Sure. Largely, they work like you work. The content of their posts is not as relevant as the reaction to their posts. Since the rules are interpreted and applied using metaphors, let's just apply a sports cliché, if you do not mind. A troll, either on the gridiron, the pitch or the hardcourt, is the role player whose intent is to subtly pester the opposition and not get caught for doing anything too bad. No yellow flags, yellow cards, or personal fouls. But, they are trying to instigate a major reaction from the opposition that would generate a yellow flag, yellow card, personal foul which would result in an award for being a victim of the reaction.

That is what is going on here. You like to think that Atlanticmike is trolling, or that I am trolling. Certainly, at times, that is true. That is not universally true. Ironically, there is a request to build the board better or to not tear it down (metaphors again) and this conversation is an extension of that metaphor. In order to blend in or assimilate, one could or should, just insult the everloving hell out of Daniel C. Peterson, Trump voters and anyone that does not comply with the accepted ideology. Similarly, one could just accept those conditions and be quiet or lurk. In order to not be disruptive, one could either accept Docs' epithets or never say anything that would get Doc's attention. One could just go along with panny's moderation or twisting/reversing of the content and fit right in. For those that agree with you, Doc and panny, that would not be trolling at all.

Addressing your trolling, insults and conditions with force or even aggression is not something you like. If someone creates a fake persona that goes along with the ideology but in a lampooning kind of way (see early Cultellus posts that are mostly gone) you do not like that either. It is no different than a poster/lurker not liking your trolling and insults and having to choose whether to just leave, or tell you to pound sound. Typically, people do not stick around to smash back at the status quo.

Why is this relevant here? Easy. There is a common connection to Mormonism. There is a common thread in Terrestrial related to the apologists, where this board is a proud anti-apologist public oversight crew. And in this process, they have weaved in a bizarre hostile left wing goon posse to defend the board and any infiltration by anyone that is not willing to be as rabid about the apologists and Trump as them!!!

When someone comes along and says, hey, this is interesting, but damn, my mom goes to church still and she voted for Trump, maybe y'all are wrong about her being cult-believing serial killer - all y'all unleash the goons and trolls, get a troll moderator, get rid of sock puppets, start a new sacred forum, split threads like unwashed fine hair and ban people for reporting posts. And, that is all kind of interesting, frankly. Very, very interesting.

Daniel C Peterson has never begged me for money during one of his videos. Maybe there’s a Peterson video out there of him begging for money, I haven’t seen it yet. Every time I watch a video produced by the Exmormon Prophet RFM, Bill Reel or the Backwards Professor I’m asked multiple times to donate my hard earned money so they can transition from their regular 9to5, to a full time “truth teller”, just like Joseph Smith did!! Let me say that again!!! They want to become full time “truth tellers” by supporting themselves and their families off of your donations. Does that sound familiar, Exmormons??? For 192 years the Mormon church has claimed to have the truth, and with donations, they’ve spread that “truth”.

One thing I’ve realized from going through a faith crisis is that Mormonism and Exmormonism really aren’t that different. Charlatans can be found in both! If you don’t believe me, just watch a days worth of Mormon Stories videos. If Space Aliens invaded earth and they binge watched Mormon Stories videos for a day, they would think Mormons are the worst group of people on planet earth!

I pay to watch netflix, HBOm Amazon Prime. I also donate to Mormons Stories and RFM and Reel's podcasts. I am happy to reward them for the entertainment they give me. And I can stop any time with no repercussions. I think your comparison is flawed.
