Under The Banner of Heaven
It’s going to be a limited (7) episode series.
Actors Andrew Garfield, Sam Worthington and director David Mackenzie are involved.
This will be excellent.

The baby blessing with the ominous music in the background is just sublime.

It it's well done, it would be one hell of a mini-series.

I think it will be great. We’ll find out in a few weeks. It will be released at the end of March.
What do you want to bet that millions of Mormons will watch this series. Keep in mind only around 75,000 people watched Witnesses.

If I tried to bet on the behavior of LDS folks, I'd go broke quicker than EP can earn 5 billions.Everybody Wang Chung wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 3:07 amI think it will be great. We’ll find out in a few weeks. It will be released at the end of March.

I think the effect it will have depends largely on the presentation. I think it's fairly easy for LDS folks to compartmentalize something as extreme as the Lafferty's. In my opinion, the real sting of Krakauer's book was a the end, when it asks the reader to contemplate the boundaries between sincere religious belief and delusion. That is an uncomfortable question that extends far beyond Mormonism, in my opinion.
But it's a hum-dinger of a story that I hope translates well to television.

I think it is safe to say that this will be another PR hit for the church. When I travel on business, I cringe when someone asks me where I live. Yes, it is Utah County.

Looking forward to this. The book was mesmerizing, but all of Krakauer's stuff is pretty good.
