Plea to support DCPs blog

I bet it has something to do with Patheos itself. DCP admitted some time ago that Patheos wanted longer posts and told him so. Maybe they saw his ratings and were concerned about an unpopular blogger bringing them down?

Why would they want to pay someone who just copies and pastes other people's content to Patheos?

The blogs are supposed to be original content...

I'm surprised at the assertion that star ratings affect web search results. I did my own search about that, and according to Search Engine Journal, " Google does not factor star ratings or customer reviews into web search rankings." https://www.searchenginejournal.com/goo ... de/416951/

I'd give Peterson 5 stars, but it wouldn't help him with his blog. What will help him is links from other sites. That makes his site seem important and relevant. So to do my part and actually help him, all I can say is go check out his blog! It has all sorts of neat stuff on it. Here's a link!

The irony is that people talking about his blog here and providing links does far more good than giving five-star reviews over there does. If critics all ignored him that would hurt his rankings, not help them.

Guys. Daniel desperately needs our help and support.

Since there are people out there who methodically rate my blog entries at the lowest possible score, thus attempting to make my blog essentially invisible to internet searches, I'm going to make it a regular practice to rate my entries at the HIGHEST possible score.

I'm sincere in this, of course, because I wouldn't post entries that I really didn't like.

Mostly, though, I'm going to do it in order to blunt the effect of the obsessive haters out there, to the extent that I can.

I invite all who believe in fairness and in permitting others to speak -- even people who may disagree with what I write here -- to offer similar high ratings. It's the principle of the thing.

Please consider going to his blog daily and giving it five stars. Not because he makes money off it, it’s not about that at all. It’s about the google search ranking. It’s about freedom of speech and anti Mormon oppression.

I’m wondering if this ratings drive is income related. Don’t bloggers get more ad royalties by increasing their “subscribers” or viewers?

Yes, the eyes and clicks bloggers bring to the ads on their blog, the more money, I believe. But, hey, think of the burgers and shakes DCP and Mrs. P will enjoy if we keep linking, viewing, and liking this blog. I, for one, relish the thought of their date nights being funded by us.

Is there any way that BYU students could be encouraged, via musket fire or other means, to leave mentions of Dr. Peterson's blog on TikTok or wherever BYU students post? What about as shoutouts at the Young and Dumb dance parties or the Provo Daily Herald?

Well, I guess that's OK, but it seems a bit strange to me.

But 5 stars? Does anyone really believe that they always produce only top-quality work? Never an 'off' day?
