Re: What Does God Think of the Bible?

Post by Doctor CamNC4Me »

I’ve been giving OP a good bit of thought since he posted, and I’m glad to report that God is very satisfied with the Bible. He loves it. The part of cutting off the tips of men’s dicks was his favorite. He couldn’t believe they’d do it, but they did and not only that, they convinced billions of parents to cut the tips of their sons’ dicks off, too. He’s absolutely beside Himself. He was like, “But they did it, right? They cut the tips off their dicks AND they convinced pagans to cut the tips of their dicks off, too? Oh, man. Oh Me. I mean I’ve done some awful things like, well, you know the Flood and dinosaurs and crap, but this. This takes the manna.

Their dicks …

They cut the tips of their dicks off. Sometimes they even have full grown men chew the tips of their babies’ dicks off. I mean, Me damn. That’s amazing.”

So. There you have it. God likes the Bible. It’s apparently entertaining to Him.

We humans have free will, which means we are non-deterministic.
That is debatable, nobody knows.

Therefore I conclude that some thinking, non-deterministic being has to have existed in this universe since the moment of the Big Bang.
Who created the non-deterministic being? And a thinking being needs a brain, wouldn't you agree?

Which God?
Which Bible?

You are asking other people what your diety thinks of your scriptures and then rejecting their answers when their religious beliefs and methodologies don't align with yours.

Hey, man. If God is good with little babies getting the tips of their dicks sliced off (or chewed off, depends on how orthodox you want to get), as described in the Bible, then I’m good with it. I mean, God really, really likes the tips of dicks for some reason. One would think He’d just create Man without the offending part, but apparently He likes it when a little boy undergoes the act of getting the tip of his dick sliced off, as described in the Bible. Some would say it’s barbaric. Not me. It’s in the Bible and apparently God is pleased when babies get the tips of their dicks sliced off, because it’s described as pleasing to God … in the Bible.

So. There it is. God likes the Bible.

I've always wondered what Gandalf thought of Hobbit series, I mean, he has never officially endorsed it right?

Isn't circumcision just a traditional genital mutilation practice such as one finds in various cultures around the world? Even when these practices are not enjoined by holy writ, they somehow get worked into religion. It seems that what people don't imagine God liking is human pleasure. Any way to reduce genital pleasure seems to be what control freaks imagine God wants. It is good to know that control freaks aren't just a problem today, but that they have been with us from time immemorial, and whatever they get their panties in a bunch about is worked into religious practice.

IMy grumpier response is, do not believe in a book, believe in God and his word and call in Jesus.
Huckelberry, I'm all in favor of believing in God. How do we know what God's word is?
Kevin, when you say Gods word what is it you are looking for. In a sense all of creation is Gods word.

This is a good take on what cultures do to ‘institutionalize’ practices that are barbaric. I believe there are Christian sects who engage in FGM even though, and I’m open to being corrected, it’s not described nor endorsed biblically. FGM is a horrific and dehumanizing practice, but I’m not sure it’s Quranic, so to speak. I guess I’d have to dig around a bit and see what the Ja'fari, Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi, or Hanbali schools have to say about it.

That said, I regret having been cheeky with regard to to the OP. It’s an unnecessary distraction.

Back to the OP, I guess KevinSim would have to provide a hard description of God’s nature and being for anyone to actually give the topic decent thought. If God is a Type 6 Civilization kind of being, I’m not sure the Bible is anything to even come up on the radar.

Kevin,
Did I answer all the questions you had for me?
