Recall that Nephi made it clear that all things had been prepared for them upon their entering Bountiful: "all these things were prepared of the Lord that we might not perish"Or in other words, the Lord prepared *everything* for them right there in Bountiful:
Fruit
Wild honey
Timber
We read that Joseph Smith imagined Nephi and his brethren going forth within the land of Bountiful and chopped down timbers with the tools forged by Nephi. Notice the "GO FORTH" in Bountiful to accomplish this task. Therefore, the timbers were had *IN* Bountiful and processed *IN* Bountiful in which all these things were prepared of the Lord that we might not perish.
Bolded words: your conjecture/interpretation. The fact is, all things WERE prepared. Now…what does that REALLY mean?
Regards,
MG
The bolded words that express my conjecture/interpretation are absolutely correct.
Nephi and his brethren were said to "GO FORTH" to acquire & work the timber:
"And it came to pass that they did worship the Lord, and did go forth with me; and we did work timbers of curious workmanship."
"Now I, Nephi, did not work the timbers after the manner which was learned by men"
Where did they "GO FORTH" other than Bountiful which was the place all things had been prepared for them by the Lord? Where were the timbers worked other than in Bountiful?
So this is the valley about a hundred miles inland where they found the necessary brush to build their ships? If only there was bamboo, they could have made a water pipeline to their encampment near the sea.

Of course! You weave the brush until it is ship-shaped.
From 4th Century BC to 400 AD. So the Nephites were 200 years too early. Bummer for being unable to craft a believable apologetic that could stand up under scrutiny.
. "Young Nephi returns with supplies from Shipbuilder's Depot in downtown Khor Rori, to begin construction of an oceangoing vessel, entirely by himself." .

Wait, you mean this photo is a hundred miles inland from the coast? That makes no sense and doesn't bode well with the logistics of Smith's storyline and I don't see timber large enough for the ship. It's nothing like what's depicted in the Church produced film showing Nephi and his brethren working large timbers having massive circumference.
Bountiful was a coastal land. Bountiful was on the seashore. The Lord prepared all things in bountiful to include the fruit, honey, and timbers. That is exactly how the story reads so apologists should expect to find such a land on the coast being adjacent to the seashore where everything was readily available.
Please everybody - remember that this is not a rather badly made up pseudo-Biblical story that was presented to its somewhat credulous early readers as a true firsthand ancient account of the establishment and early history of a Jewish colony in America, and later became part of the belief system that many quite sophisticated and well-educated people absorbed from their families and made an integral part of their lives.
It's a literary genre. You people are so naïve.

That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

Not only have I denounced the Big Lie, I have denounced the Big lie big lie.

The photo is presented by the author of the blog with no claim regarding where or what it actually is. We’d have to ask the relatively unknown Joseph Warren Grammer those questions, but he’s not telling.

Well, that's pretty much the gist of it. There is no doubt in my mind because the Book of Mormon reads like a novel coming from the mind of a single person, Joseph Smith. He pretended to sound like several persons but it's just a single author all rolled up in one. And Mormon and Moroni were not at all paying to attention to the errors Nephi Smith made while telling about his stupid story of building a ship. Worse yet, then comes the story about building a temple at Delmarva. That one takes the cake! And yes, it was *at* Delmarva!
Hey, did I ever tell you that I'm a Book of Mormon expert?

So we’ve been told. Or lectured to, or maybe just scolded about. Or something.
