How does a belief in god translate into a need to support falsehoods in a particular religion?
It wasn’t a “need”, it was a
realization that what I once doubted was very possibly not a fabricated falsehood.
Again, go back and read what I said in context.
since I’ve already read what you said I don’t think I will. Here’s what I asked

But, since you’ve decided to engage, how do you reconcile the amazing coincidence that the religion in which you were already tightly enmeshed, which you were already "mimicking" and which you had clearly decided you had to stay in-- would turn out to be the world-wide best choice?
Not to mention that the issues surrounding the, to use your words, “fabricated farce” and the “faith of our fathers [being] false” are still there. Your arguments are typically so inconsistent and vague, which suggests that these issues aren’t satisfactorily resolved, even to you. How does a belief in god translate into a need to support falsehoods in a particular religion?
Your comment here doesn’t address the question:
Yes, you are correct that I was born into the LDS faith. It is this faith that makes extraordinary claims. If those claims are true then we have a religion that encompasses all truth, including truths found in other systems of belief.
It is THAT which I’m referring to. Investigating the truth claims of the LDS, in essence, saves a LOT of time wandering about looking for truth and being tossed to and fro.
What I’m hearing you say is that the convenience of sticking with what the people around you already believe outweighs actually considering the question. The “tossed to and fro” is more of your hubris.
Not that I didn’t contrast and compare.

no you didn’t. That’s obvious.
I decided to engage with you this time around because I think it is very important that folks hear what I’m saying vs. your reinterpretation, twisting, and manipulation of my words.

Sure, sure. But you’ve really backed yourself into a corner this time. This strategy of saying anything to support the conclusions you MUST reach in order to keep your family and social group happy makes much of what you say suspect.
