Book of Mormon Central Art Contest

Post by Everybody Wang Chung »

It's that time of year again when BOMC hosts another art contest. For the most part, I really enjoyed these entries. Here are some of the new and past entries in no particular order.

This first picture is of Pahoran. I like the slacker/apathy portrayed here. Definitely drawn by someone from Gen Z. It's kind of like the Pahoran version of Jeff Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
Image

I like this picture of Zeazrom. The shining steel and wavy blond hair shows that he means business.
Image

If I have to pick a favorite, this would be it. There is some real talent here.
Image

Nothing really to say here other than this is a very ripped Captain Moroni.
Image

I don't want to discourage a young artist, but this looks more like a picture of Gelflings from The Dark Crystal movie, rather than characters from the Book of Mormon.
Image

This one definitely has a Viking/Icelandic vibe to it.
Image

This one feels like it was phoned in. Not a lot of effort here.
Image

Oh..My...Goodness... Alma has never looked more sexy. This picture was drawn by young artist Tiffany Brazel. The sexual tension just oozes from this drawing. I'm willing to bet that if you were to look at Tiffany's library you would find the series, Fifty Shades of Grey.
Image

King Noah who looks very similar to Jim Belushi.
Image

I'm not sure what this is supposed to represent.
Image

Elohim getting ready to take names and kick some butt.
Image

Lehi drawn in the inner city graffiti style. I like this one.
Image

This one is simply titled, "He Stinketh Not."
Image

This looks like it was heavily inspired from the Conan books by Robert Howard.
Image

I really like this anime style of the Stripling Warriors.

I have a strong respect for the talent of anyone who handles watercolors well. Those whales (presumably looking up at Jaredite barges) are delightful to look at.

Overall, there are some fun pieces here. My compliments to the artists and their range of styles.

I enjoyed them too. Thanks for notifying us of these, Everybody Wang Chung.
