QUESTION

How many days has passed prior to Nephi striking two stones together to produce a fire for the bellows in which he constructed to built a ship?

MG, even Dan Pasterson admits there’s no good evidence for the Book of Mormon in the Americas.

Why would God do that? Why would he hinge all of the evidence on dodgy paralleomania like NMH? God clearly does not want to offer any non spiritual evidence for the Book of Mormon that is strong enough to convince someone without a prior spiritual conviction.

You have to be honest with yourself just a little and admit this is a very questionable choice by the Mormon God. You should do what Pasterson does and try to explain gods divine hidden-ness and stop clinging to the long debunked Bountiful nonsense. It sank decades ago.
You are focused on a splotch of paint rather than the whole. Neither you or anyone else…looking through the fog of history…knows everything there is to know about that splotch. Look at the whole!

Back in the day before your apostasy I would gander that you might have been a fan of Elder Neal A. Maxwell. He was one of my favorite GA’s.

May I suggest to you and if not you others on this board that are lurking, to take the time to read this landmark address on the Book of Mormon by this educated and marvelous man. Truth be told, when I read this essay earlier and then held it up against the voices of the doubters I saw that there was just no comparison in the depth and breadth of his understanding and spirituality in comparison with what I suffer through and read here by folks like Doc, Marcus, Mr. Chung, and others.

Such a contrast!

Anyway, this essay might just turn you around and convince you to go back to church!

Ha ha.

Regards,
MG

I really value the truth. It matters to me if the Nephites existed or not. It’s not a philosophical argument that the church is making about the historicity of the Book of Mormon, it’s a historical argument.

There’s as much evidence for Zarahemla as there is for Atlantis.

How could I possibly go into a church knowing that there is no evidence for any of the events the church asks me to believe in? The emperor has no clothes. It’s not virtuous to pretend he does, it’s immoral.

Wow. I just read that essay. That was ... a great and spacious building with absolutely NOTHING in it. I'm really surprised at how devoid of content that was.

Well, unlike the braying donkey troll you most likely read it. Lucky for them none of his like-minded lurkers will read it, either. A link usually suffices.

Timber

Post by Shulem »

SHOW me the timbers that grow on the coast of Arabia that appear like the ones the Church portrays in their film of Nephi building a ship!

SHOW me those timbers. Prove to me the Church doesn't lie about timber.

SHOW me proof.

Too bad God didn't tell Nehi to buy a couple of hammers and a Skilsaw before he left town.

Well, you know very well that's what they used on the studio set in which timbers were presented in the Church video for Mormon propaganda. It's all lies.

Isn't that right, MG?

You know it. I know it. God knows it.

Maybe the braying donkey will link you to another Sunday School lesson on just how wOnDeRfUl tHe Book of Mormon Is instead of actually engaging you in on-topic, factual, substantive discussion that follows a coherent narrative. That seems to be his calling, aside from acting like a martyr because people have stopped putting up with his passive-aggressive trolling.

Hee haw.
