Excerpt from the current Aaronic Priesthood manual in 2022

Quotation and Discussion:
Ask each young man to select what he thinks are the three most important attributes on the chalkboard. Take a vote to determine which areas the young men consider most important. Discuss why they voted the way they did.

Compare the results of the vote with the following statement by President Spencer W. Kimball. Have a young man read it.
We recommend that people marry those who are of the same racial background generally, and of somewhat the same economic and social and educational background (some of those are not an absolute necessity, but preferred), and above all, the same religious background, without question” (“Marriage and Divorce,” in 1976 Devotional Speeches of the Year [Provo: Brigham Young University Press, 1977], p. 144).
Why is it so important for a couple to be worthy members of the Church? Ensure that the following points are discussed:
1. Exaltation cannot be attained without celestial marriage.
2. Religious values are powerful, and conflicting values can cause continual stress.
3. President Kimball quoted a survey showing that “only about one out of seven nonmember spouses would be converted and baptized into the Church” (“Marriage and
Divorce,” p. 152).
4. When one spouse is not converted to the gospel, the children are caught between the differing values of the parents.
• Why is it important for a couple to have a similar economic, educational, and cultural background?

I am not seeing anything that shows this is from 2022. Where did you see the year?
Seems like something that would have been published 20 years ago.

As per reddit:
AP 3rd manual

[Still] Hosted on the [LDS.org] website, but no longer the official manual and is no longer used for teaching AP classes. It's now called Come Follow Me. Congrats, you've been out long enough to not be indoctrinated to know which of the many (many) versions is official!

Unless you go every week, there's no way to keep up with which eternal truths from last week are now this week's ward library recycling. I want to emphasize that the church is the crazy one for constantly changing the "unchanging" gospel.

I can personally recall being taught this when I was in the church during the 2008-2015 era.

The copyright on the manual that includes that page is 1995.

Here's the closest thing I could find in the current manual:

What's kind of weird (to me) is that when I do a search at CoJC.org for "Aaronic Priesthood Manual," that specific section pulls up as the third result, but it's only that section and not the whole manual.

ETA, ok to add to the weirdness, I just did the search again, and the very first result was the full manual that contains that section:

Weird. I got the cover page of the manual, which is labeled Manual 3.

LMAO!

I probably need to walk away, as it is just getting more confusing and weird for me.

From further down the rabbit hole at the Church's site... Manual 1 has a renewed copyright of 2002. Manual 2 isn't available at all on the current site, but the site does have a resource guide for manual 2 for 2004. Manual 3, with the copyright of 1995 has a resource guide dated 2002.

All that being said, "Come, Follow Me" (which you shared) appears to be the current manual.

Resistance is futile.

I like how they have discarded the idea of a manual entirely. They’ve gone from something that makes it sound like an authoritative definitive document to some wishy washy “come follow me” thing they can more easily abandon in the future when all the LGBT stuff is indefensible.
