DCP's rare extended absence from his blog

Post by drumdude »

The last post on Sic Et Non was 3 days ago, which wouldn't be noteworthy except for the fact that DCP has maintained a virtually unbroken string of daily posts for many years now.

Even the comments on his blog which have been flagged for moderation, which he normally quickly approves, have remained blocked awaiting his action to unblock them.

I certainly hope Dan is working on a very exciting project, and has not fallen ill due to his insane travel schedule over the last few months.

He may have traveled to a location where time flows differently.

All kidding aside, I hope DCP didn't take another fall, catch COVID or injury himself.

DCP may be a dick, but he is our dick.

I'm worried about DCP. He hasn't appeared to be in good health for a long time. His travel schedule is insane and he never stops posting online, whether it be from Chico, California or Cairo, Egypt. For many years he has battled enemies and persecution, real and imagined but mostly imagined. He has sunken to unfathomable depths with the cleaning house of the Maxwell Institute and then risen to unimaginable heights with the Interpreter Foundation, FAIR Mormon, and the recent "Witnesses" project. And, just think of the stress he must feel at having to urbanely respond to almost each and every comment on his Sic et Non blog.

The totality of it might be overwhelming him. I hope he surfaces soon and lets us know that he is okay.

Another thing, without DCP providing venue and shelter, I am afraid that Midgley is going to fade away into the angry ether. And, I both care about Midgley and find him endlessly entertaining.

Please be okay, Daniel C. Peterson. Please let us know soon that you're okay.

Seconded. As a person, I wish him well.

Is it possible to be on the other side of the world and not be in a different time zone?

We can all sleep well tonight knowing DCP has surfaced. The Nile cruise he is on does not have working Internet.

I’m sure that is totally not to keep the cruise participants from fact checking Daniel’s Book of Mormon tour guide commentary in real time!
