Do you have any of the resigning board members view in writing or do you assume they resigned due to John's behavior?

he seems to have at least mistreated some women who have worked for him. That I don't think is all that questionable. What that means is really hard to say. He got rude with them? He was short with them? The words "threatened, intimidated and harassed" are a bit too vague to make much of them. Rosebud's story is basically all documented and many people would disagree that "threatened, intimidated and harassed' accurately describes the situation, while some of us have said "harassed" can be said to fit.

Jpatterson much of what you type is just more of the same empty angry sounding accusation. I don't think this helps us clear anything up.

If only there were a recording of Dehlin doing these horrible things, then we could put this whole question to rest once and for all.

Just to bring some clarity to this murky mess:

We know that Rosebud's claim is that . . . .

We know that Amy Grubbs' claim . . . .

I have personally spoken to two other anonymous former employees, one of whom was not threatened, intimidated or harassed by John but [claims to have] witnessed . . . . He believes he wasn't treated that way because he is a man, not a woman.

We know that Kristy Money's claim is that . . . .

We know that there are 15+ other women who [claim they] were . . . .

We know that consiglieri is personal friends with John Dehlin and [jpatterson claims he] has made it his mission to clear John's name through any way possible. We also know that [jpatterson claims] consig receives substantial material benefits through this friendship.

However, at the beginning of 2020, while trying to secure funding and ensure the longterm success of the newsroom, Truth & Transparency was sued by Watch Tower and forced to settle, resulting in the removal of all documents owned by the Jehovah's Witnesses. After the financial blow, along with personal and familial hardships experienced by both McKnight and Dodge during the COVID-19 pandemic, Truth & Transparency became dormant for nearly two years.

In April 2020, Truth & Transparency announced their intentions to cease operations after the release of one last news story, the results of a 2020 investigation put on hold due to the lawsuit. Both McKnight and Dodge hope to continue their journalistic endeavors on a freelance basis going forward.

If TTF announced that it would be doing one last thing in April 2020, why is it that Rosebud was sending them stuff in March of 2022?

My guess is that she didn't send them anything or emailed it without checking to see that they were still in operation. Maybe she wanted to broadcast that she did so for the purposes of keeping up the appearance of continuing the fight. That, or TTF is not being so true or transparent in its own account of the state of its operations in March of 2022.

I think it's just a typo.

It's a pattern that they make overblown claims on him, then take down the website/documents/videos when people call them out.

If they just stuck to calling Dehlin an a-hole, they would be correct and would get a lot more sympathy. Unfortunately for them, it's perfectly lawful to be an a-hole.

I am sad to leave Open Stories Foundation without achieving my main goal of building a team to further the mission. My intent was to help build a solid team around John’s all-star branded Mormon Stories platform. I am confident John will continue to succeed with his Mormon Stories podcast and will continue to shed light on topics religious organizations would prefer to keep in the dark. For Open Stories Foundation to evolve and grow it would take both a change in structure and John’s willingness to change behavior. In my opinion, having a revolving door management approach is less than optimal. As someone who truly believes in the mission, I sincerely hope to see these changes. My initial vision and intent for Open Stories Foundation is not consistent with the direction Open Stories Foundation is now heading. I have no regrets for giving Open Stories Foundation so much of my time and support. I believe Open Stories Foundation has made a positive difference in so many people’s lives. I will continue to be involved with organizations and talented people who share in the mission of increasing understanding, relieving suffering and promoting connection especially for youth. I look forward to our paths crossing again soon.
