Weren’t they the first to publicly express concerns about the Hoffman documents? If I recall correctly, it was because the forgeties were subtly inconsistent with other historical things. I was pretty impressed that they could step back and see the issues when LDS church historians and leaders either didn't or couldn't.

Yep! Sandra credits Jerald. She says he usually was pretty good at sniffing out phony documents and scoundrel human beings.
