Members who refuse or are incapable of challenging ridiculous truth claims peddled by Mormonism are NOT valiant or brave. They are lazy learners. They are brainwashed and toe the line like cattle and sheep being kept in pens. They keep their mouth's shut. They close their minds. They are less intelligent and are not valiant in the cause of truth. They are not the kind of people I would hang around with.

And it appears to me that those who defend the church are happy to just oh say anything they wish so as to make sure people do not actually study things out. As long as they end with a positive note and testimony, I suspect the majority of regular members will not bother worrying about it, as you note.
