Your ‘god’ is monstrous MG, and unworthy of any worship.
Out of interest who/what is the god you worship and/or acknowledge as being supreme?

Regards,
MG
As I’m sure you’re aware since you’ve spent so much time studying faith traditions outside of your own, the Goddess Saraswati is the ruler of the sphere of knowledge. Musicians, academics, scientists, and artists all revere her and seek her favours in order to improve their cognitive and creative talents. Saraswati, the Hindu Goddess of Learning, Music, Craft, Wisdom, Arts, and Auspiciousness, is honoured and honoured as the Mother of Vedas and teaching, singing, skill, knowledge, disciplines, and grace. She’s also the Goddess of Wisdom and Insight. Goddess Saraswati is supposed to be Lord Brahma's creation, and she is the embodiment of all the intellect he has. Mahabhadra, Padmaaksh, Varaprada, Divyanga, and other titles have been given to the Goddess. She is thought to provide order to Lord Brahma's chaotic realm with her intellect.

If you follow the true order of devotion and recite the Saraswati Mantra, it can allow you to enlighten your mind and obtain wisdom, which will help you to improve your scholastic and religious understanding. It is said to evoke the Goddess of innocence, honesty, wisdom, and innovation. It is stated that reciting the Saraswati mantra will help you overcome any linguistic difficulties that may be obstructing your learning and expansion. It also enhances your self-esteem and aids in the development of effective communication skills.

It’s my deepest wish for you to abandon the fraud of Mormonism and come unto the light of the Goddess Saraswati.

They claim they do not know why God directed the ban.

The issue with that explanation, or lack thereof, is it acknowledges they can't communicate well enough with Him to even answer what seems to be a simple question. God talks directly to Nelson to tell him about how long church meetings should be, how old one has to be to go on a mission, whether gay people should marry and even what name to call the church, but somehow, He can't explain to his chosen mouthpiece here on earth why the church arbitrarily denied basic membership privileges to people of color for 150 years.

What is it a prophet does?
The same thing happened during Joseph Smith's day. God could give exact instructions on how to build Joseph's house but instructions on polygamy were considered vague. God gave intricate instructions on temple ordinances but felt it unnecessary to tell people not to own other people. Something doesn't track.
Going back to page 1, perhaps this bit provides clarity:

MG, I agree with Doc. Here is just one testimony of the Goddess Saraswati and how this Goddess has manifested her divine presence. Isn't it wonderful, isn't it marvelous:

How long have you been a practitioner of this tradition?

Do you find yourself wanting to treat others with respect and kindness as a result of being a disciple of Saraswati?

Best wishes to you on your life path and I hope you find betterment through this practice. The proof is in the pudding and how long/permanent are the effects of living according to the dictates of this goddess.

Hopefully it’s not a temporary fad.

Will you not come unto the light of the Goddess Saraswati? I invite you to take part in Puja to her as they are given blessings of knowledge and wisdom as the sincere seek wisdom. Devotees of Saraswati also seek blessings for spirituality, peace and purity, and to excel in all aspects in life. I encourage you to attend the Puja in order to learn more about the Hindu practice of celebrating Goddess Saraswati as well as to seek blessings prior to your death in order to be reincarnated into a higher form. I’m sure none of this is new to you, since you’ve spent so much time studying other faith traditions, no? In particular, I’m certain you’ve given Hinduism as much study and prayerful thought as you’ve given Mormonism. It would be folly to only devote oneself to one’s geographical faith that one was born into.

How about none? Is that a possibility? If not, why not?
Dr. Exiled is on to something. I don’t have a god. I don’t need a god. Agnostic Atheism is the position that I find most logical so far re: the existence of deity.

The universe might not have any inherent, grand meaning or purpose- but that doesn’t mean we cannot create meaning or purpose.

My will. Our will. Be done.

I like this website. Breaks down ideas elegantly even if it’s a bit unsophisticated.

Irrelevant. Every year LDS converts walk away from Mormonism soon after being baptized for numerous reasons. This argument about the proof being "in the pudding" is a deflection, another example of your biases interfering with sincere engagement with an argument.

You've made your belief in God as you believe God to be uncontestable as the basis of your own thinking. So your arguments reflect this fatal flaw. It raises the question of what motivates your engagement then? I have my belief but that's really a question you should spend more time reflecting on this to push past the lies you are telling yourself about your participation.

ETA: You should also reflect on the parable of the workers. Your argument above is in direct conflict with the New Testament.

I’m honestly curious as to whether Doc finds fulfillment and meaning in his faith. He has decided for one reason or another to not share his feelings in regards to the sincere questions and supportive position I took in regards to his beliefs.

I would (wouldn’t others?) be interested in his thoughts and feelings in regards to my questions.

For some reason you are taking a hard line against an honest and sincere post I made to Doc.

Why?

I really don’t know.

I thought this was a forum for sharing our faith and beliefs and/or non belief. Doc was encouraging me to investigate his faith and I was curious as to why.

I asked two simple questions and wished him well.

Sheesh.

Isn’t the proof is in the pudding a reasonable statement to make in regards to someone’s faith?

Again, your comments have a hard edge and I wonder what motivates you to act in this way.

You seem to be acting as a buffer for Doc so that he can avoid response. And he is simply being invited to share what causes him to practice his faith and how it makes him a better and more kind person over the long haul.

My guess it that Doc's brushes with the divine are too sacred to be shared. If you want to entice him, however, perhaps you should divulge yours first*.

*For what it's worth, saying that you've done this many times before and we should all look it up, is not sufficient.
