Heres Lonny
For me this Mormonism journey became an hard adventure when my mission companion snuck out of the house one night and got married and then snuck back into the apartment. He was from Nephi Utah and went straight from high school to being in the MTC. He ran off one night and married a woman we were teaching with the sister missionaries and she had 2 kids. This guy literally got married by some dude with a online church pastor title.
The next day after he got married he felt guilty and told me what he did. I told our district leader in a text message that I didn't think this dude would be a good missionary if he was married. The district leader thought I was making up a joke or something and he told everybody but he didn't say it was true. I got in trouble for not saying it was true.
My mission companion had to go home but he came back and when we went to church the next week he was there and then his wife got baptized at the church.
That was all such a crazy story time and time. When I went back to that city after my mission I stayed at their condo and looked for a job and did some stuff at this building that was made into movie studio. They made podcasts and commercials mostly but did some way better movies too. They made porn movies. Pretty soon after that I was making hundreds of dollars of extra cash a week doing extra stuff for the movies after work. I even paid tithing once with cash I got from working on movies for porn and that made me feel terrible so I just went to a different ward for a while. Pretty soon I didn't even like going to church anymore. Now I think I want to do some movies about church stuff since I know these people at this studio and I did them some favors if you know what I mean.

Welcome Lonny. It's not a very big jump from acting in porn movies to transitioning to Church movies. They are both usually very low quality, silly scripts and horrible acting. They usually both have bad music too.Lonny Flash wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 6:44 pmThey made porn movies. Good luck and I wish you the best in your new career move.

So basically you are the inspiration for Orgazmo.

From porn to Mormon themed movies ... sounds about right.
Anyway, welcome to the discussion board.

In my mission we had a secret club thing for missionaires. You had to drink a half gallon of milk and eat two bags of Oreos with extra stuffing while watching Orgazmo and you couldn't puke. They called it the O club. you could only join if you did it in front of a zone leader who was also a member if the O club. I think there was a lot of missions in LA near us that did that.

Well, the upside to this is, it is probably more spiritual than what we did all day... tracting door to door.Lonny Flash wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 7:15 pm

It's definitely more productive than what we did all day.....baptizing people that would all leave the Church after a couple of months, never to return. The upside is that they will all remain on the Church's rolls as members until they reach the age of 110.Philo Sofee wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 12:46 amWell, the upside to this is, it is probably more spiritual than what we did all day... tracting door to door.Lonny Flash wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 7:15 pmIn my mission we had a secret club thing for missionaires. I remember hearing a GA explicitly identifying that as justification for the baseball baptisms program in Scotland in the 1960s. In effect, "we did it now so that it doesn't need to be done in the millenium".
