That’s another whole layer that I’m not sure I fully understand. The Radiant Foundation and Radiant Digital (which is the owner of Beliefnet) use the same trademarked logo on their sites. I can’t remember whether I tried to figure out who owns the trademark. There’s probably more detail in the old thread that traced the ownership of Beliefnet and Patheos. I think that ended in a Delaware Corporation, which makes virtually nothing about corporations or LLC’s public.
Doesn't that shell corporation trace right back to SLC and to its ultimate parent The Corporation of the First Presidency? BtheW, was that Delaware Corporation one of the mailing addresses used by Ensign Peak Investments?
Yeah, I was going to say President Nelson is the corporate sole. If Ms. Dew is involved I wouldn’t be surprised if the Profit, or non-Profit? in this instance, is the one doing the appointing.

The original thread has been split, so that separate threads can address (1) the source of funding for Faith Matters, and (2) the type and/or effectiveness of the style of apologetics deployed by Faith Matters. This thread is reserved for the first option.

I realized my comment about funding belongs in this thread:

I’m going to make an assumption that you are being serious. I think I’ve already spelled it out…but here we go:

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has no official connection, money trail or otherwise, with the Faith Matters Foundation.
Really.
Not that I can find anyway.
Oh. Did you look?

I’ve been down with a nasty stomach bug for a couple of days, but it sounds like MG 2.0 has been researching. MG 2.0, have you been able to determine who controls Faith Matters?

(RNS) — Faith Matters, an independent organization that helps Latter-day Saints explore “an expansive view of the Restored Gospel,” has quickly become a popular hub for those seeking new ways to engage with their faith.

Founded in 2016 by two couples (Susan and Bill Turnbull and Kristin and David Turnbull), Faith Matters dares to raise honest, uncensored questions about Mormon life and belief.

There are important reasons why charitable organizations don’t put millions of dollars of donated funds under the control of a single individual. It’s a recipe for embezzlement. You’d have to really, really, really trust the individual places in control. Who would the directors of a corporation owned by the LDS Church place that kind of trust in?

For real. They’re hooking Ms. Dew up with a slew of ghost written book deals, and a bunch of sinecures. The cult pays well for insiders

Apparently, as I’ve already said, it appears that Faith Matters is run and managed independently of the church.

This might help:

https://projects.propublica.org/nonprof ... /852759608

I’m sure that if those here had wanted to go down the rabbit hole with Faith Matters as they did with Radiant they would have done so. Incriminating’ evidence/information would already have been brought to light.

Nothing yet.

I would expect that with your expertise (Radiant research and findings) that you would be able to quickly pull up information that supports your position that Faith Matters has connections with the LDS Church.

As it is, it appears to be a group of like minded individuals who engage in community and dialogue. Being spearheaded by those on this list:

https://faithmatters.org/about/

There’s a conference coming up later this year. Those don’t come cheap.
