Christianity…and Mormonism in particular…provides that roadmap/plan that acts as a catalyst in this life and a template for eternity. And does a pretty good job of it. More so than some of the ‘fuzzy’ almost incomprehensible alternatives.
Or a divine plan. We’re left to choose.

Mormonism (Multiple Mortal Probations) and Hinduism have both touched on the idea of a cycle of death and rebirth.
What about the Mormon idea of being granted 72 virgins in Spirit Paradise for valiancy in a Jihad?
Tomb soldier 1 looking on: "Folks are gathering: going in; slipping out; going back in again. A few smiles. Odd -- considering."
Tomb soldier 2: "Oh shoot! It's tomb 4; I told 'em 6. I could never keep my 4's and 6's straight. My bad -- I'll go down there..."
Soldier 1 grabs soldier 2's cloak: "Too late now, soldier. You wanna get stoned for heresy?"
We can't take farmers and take all their people and send them back because they don't have maybe what they're supposed to have. They get rid of some of the people who have been there for 25 years and they work great and then you throw them out and they're replaced by criminals.
What about the Mormon idea of being granted 72 virgins in Spirit Paradise for valiancy in a Jihad?
Was that funny?
Think of it as a cross-religious tradition blending of ideas. 72 virgins, paradise, and jihad come from Islam and spirit paradise and valiancy come from Mormonism. It relates back to the previous similarity of religious ideas regarding the LDS multiple mortal probations and the Hindu idea of rebirth that I mentioned.
Some religious ideas do have a humorous side, such as combining fig lead aprons with baker hats. Seeing the juxtaposition makes me giggle.
