As I mentioned somewhere earlier (I think in this thread or the one that got split off…can’t remember) my strong guess is that these folks have already been around the block. How many times, I don’t know. I don’t have a problem with balance and taking the approach of ‘study and by faith’ as one tackles hard questions.

And the point made of ‘becoming’ seems to be a self evident truth.

MG
Is it fair to say, then, that you see Faith Matters as primarily a tool for questioning Mormons rather than a venue for exploring the potential of the faith from within?

I'm glad if something I shared was of value. On a tangent, I saw in another thread you mentioned you posted on the old board as Karl61. It's good to see you around here. :)

I don’t see either one of these being mutually exclusive. Yes to both.

Ok, establishing that you see it as "primarily a tool for questioning Mormons," you also see it as a venue for exploring the potential of the faith from within. I apologize but I'm really hoping to hear where you've used it to realize the latter yourself. Pointedly, do YOU use it for that? And it so, what fruit has it yielded to date?

First question: no
Second question: Not applicable.

Like you, I’ve been more or less independent in my Faith journey rather than leaning on any one source/organization in my explorations. But I have tried to keep a sense of balance. My motto has always been that truth, whatever of it there is to have, is usually somewhere in the middle.

Faith Matters is ONE path. I see it as a positive path for those that choose that route. I suppose that may mainly be because I believe in positive energy and outcomes. Faith Matters provides both.

If folks also decide to go their own way, independent of the organization, there is nothing in the way to stop them.
