I was reading the book about Aslan, which I later understood to be an allegory about the atonement. I don't think he meant all fiction, just fiction with similar storylines as Smith's fiction.

Since it was a political thread, perhaps Dr. Peterson was conflating grace with a working democracy. He knows the strong pull his beloved Republican party is facing toward non-democratic fascism and perhaps wants to stem that tide while at the same time keeping the Interpreter donors happy.
