Does Daniel C. Peterson ever tell the truth? DCP is attacking me for calling him on the carpet for donating to, and encouraging his readers to donate to Tim Ballard/OUR. DCP also makes the bizarre and clearly false statement that he and his wife have only donated for the last "2 or 3 years" to Tim Ballard.

A quick search reveals that as far back as 2014 DCP has been pimping Tim Ballard. In a SeN article from 2015, DCP states OUR is a charity that he and his wife support. That would be about 8 years ago, DCP.
I think it’s kinda crappy to criticize people for supporting what they thought was a good cause. Lesson learned, I hope. There are some creeps out there who pose as virtuous heroes and defraud good people. Tim Ballard is the embodiment of crackpot right wing religious grift. I hope everyone takes note and scrutinizes similar wannabe heroes a lot more closely.

Yes and no. Why didn't they know it was a good cause? There are people I'd be tempted to give a free pass, but people like Church authorities and professors who should know better, yet operate in an echo chamber of their own design and enforcement, at a certain point have to take some heat for being gullible dupes.

There are people I'd be tempted to give a free pass, but people like Church authorities and professors who should know better, yet operate in an echo chamber of their own design and enforcement, at a certain point have to take some heat for being gullible dupes.
I mean, I would like to think that I would not fall for affinity fraud, but maybe I just haven’t met the kind of fraudster who would appeal to me. Maybe I have been taken already.

Not sure since there is zero confirmation anywhere I can see, but it is a verified Twitter (X) account. Also perhaps it deserves its own thread, but I'm guessing the matter is closed. Kevin Duncan announces that Apostle Ballard has passed away.
