Nobody needs to worry about four more years of Trump. He is not the leader of the populists, he is a symptom and opportunist. Your fears are misguided. The only thing you should fear is your ability to handle the truth. Trump ain't your problem at all.

I agree that the shooter and/or whoever conspired with or motivated him to attempt this had to be incredibly stupid to think that this would somehow help Biden's and the Democrats' chances to win in November, whether or not the assassination attempt succeeded. I think it more likely that the shooter had a personal vendetta against Trump himself and couldn't care less about what other consequences might result from it. Also, more likely than a motivation to ensure Biden's election, is a determination to damage the entire country and the democratic process itself, regardless of which political parties would be hurt most by it. I think those are the 2 likeliest motivations behind this. Either a personal vendetta against Trump himself, regardless of whom else gets hurt, or a terrorist act by some entity, either foreign or domestic, who wants to hurt the entire nation and what we stand for.

I hope that the least likely motivation for this act was an attempt by MAGA to stage a false flag scenario in order to blame Biden and the Democrats for the attempt. Can we safely rule that out? I hope so!
