I'm wondering if Dan knows anything about Joseph Smith's political aspirations, being crowned king in the Council of 50, and everything the Council was planning with regards to the government of these United States.

Playing devil's advocate, perhaps God didn't protect him at all, maybe the dragon did.

Revelations 13:
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
Whatever may have intervened to spare Trump, "all the world" worshipping Satan the Dragon doesn't seem plausible.
1 Nephi 14:10
And he said unto me: Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth.

That’s completely different!

If Dan ever took a consistent position on anything he would explode in a puff of logic.

I thought Daniel Peterson was clear and on target. I am glad he said it though I might also find it a bit obvious.
I agree with you, huckelberry. I am so happy that DCP criticized this nonsense.
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”

Here is Dan McClellan trying to debunk Evangelical/Mormon nonsense that Donald Trump is fulfilling biblical prophecy:

And here he is again trying to debunk more Trump biblical prophecy:

Today I question those who say their God intervened and saved Trump; if so, why didn’t their God prevent serious injury to the two others shot or save the guy who was killed.

Well, isn't that the nature of how "miracles" are made, where one positive aspect of a bad situation is isolated and pronounced a miracle"? How many times have we heard stories about how God protected all the missionaries from harm in a natural disaster, stories which ignored the many other people killed or wounded in the same event? Or, car accidents in which one occupant survives "miraculously" but the rest die? I don't know how many times I have sat in a F&T meeting where people talked about how God "miraculously" cured someone of cancer, having myself lost someone to cancer. Did God not care enough about her to save her too? God didn't save Trump any more than He allowed the other two people to be killed.

Hitler survived over 42 assassination attempts. Truly miraculous. Obviously Hitler had angels surrounding/protecting him at all times.
