Hero worship because their lives are lacking in some way. They probably, without understanding it, view Trump’s story as a classical hero’s journey. The forces of evil - fags, baby killers, child idiots, and communists - are on that side and Jesus, I mean Trump, who is on this side has sacrificed everything to fight them. He’s at The Return part of the hero’s journey and if he wins it’ll be Happily Ever After.
