The latest Democrat narrative is the Trump and Vance are "weird" and it seems to be working. At least, it's really annoying Trump.

The funny thing about this approach is that it's been available the whole time. Trump is weird. It's just that he's also stupid, dishonest, racist, insecure, incompetent, an asshole, and a criminal, so the Democrat instinct has been to highlight all of those things and not even consider the more tepid "weird" descriptor.

But "weird" seems to be sticking, especially with Vance on the ticket. "Weird" covers so many different behaviors without having to get specific about any particular one. People can think of Trump/Vance and overlay their own perception of these guys' weirdness.

I am amazed and impressed by this turn of political marketing and wish they used it years ago. "Weird" isn't as harsh, it's more relatable, and it's not as easily perceived as an attack. It sounds more like a relatable observation of what we've all experienced. It turns out that less really is more.

I can't get enough of George Conway's stuff. I listen to him regularly on The Bulwark. I completely agree with him; the media has been afraid to talk about his obvious mental conditions and somebody has to do it.

I can't get enough of George Conway's stuff. I listen to him regularly on The Bulwark. I completely agree with him; the media has been afraid to talk about his obvious mental conditions and somebody has to do it.

I listen to him on The Bulwark, too, as well as any current interviews or guest appearances he makes. He's a smart man with a smart strategy. And it's not only working, it meshes well with the efforts to identify Trump as weird.

Conway noted, and I agree, how in 2016 Trump was the new shiny object in the race and how now, folks are simply tired of his routine. He may have seemed impressive back then. Now he just comes off as crazy and stale in my opinion.
