It's as if some insane person is behind the push for this design.
Like somebody woke up at night and shooed the wife into another room while they jotted down this design.

Time for Kirton McConkie to send in the attack squadron and show those Fairviewoovians what's what!!!

Can someone tell me why the LDS church insists on that particular spot with that height/size?

I really don't understand. Fairview wasn't saying "You can't have your temple!" They said, "You're welcome to build one that's either shorter at that spot, or the size you like at another spot of the town." Why does the church insist on breaking their rules and try to sue them? What's so particular about that spot? And that size?

That reminds me of my kids when they were little throwing temper tantrums, "I want it! I want it! I want it!"

Am I missing something? Maybe there's something I didn't see?

:D

My wife guessed the LDS church wanted to build more buildings in that area like malls to make more money; maybe that particular area has the potential. And the temple is, therefore, the starting point. I personally don't think so though. I feel that they just have a head growing bigger and bigger.

Ah, but did your kids have sacred temper tantrums and a law firm at their disposal? That might be the element you are not seeing. Never want to hear the tykes screaming, "I will sue you into the ground, Daddy."

My kids, no. My students, yes. This world now has a growing number of entitled people who don't believe in facts and science, and will sue anyone who corrects them.

If you look where they want to build temples it’s likely where there is a lot of traffic so all those driving by can see this huge white building all lit up. I’m sure it’s sort of a new missionary tool.

It appears two LDS members are suing the town of Fairview for preventing their right to worship. https://www.kltv.com/2024/08/08/rea ... t-denied/ . I wonder if the church urged a few members to do it. They did something similar with one of the Hofmann forgeries. They had a member buy them then donate it to the church.

Yuck.

Can't believe some can be so blind and go down to this level.

Pew did a study regarding religious attitudes last year . https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/2 ... olics/ . Notice where Mormons land. Members and some apologists have speculated the reasons Mormons are disliked. The have claimed that there is confusion regarding Polygamy. This kind of behavior is almost never mentioned. Mormons have a track record of being terrible neighbors.
