New Coffee with Kish on Temple changes.

Post by Kishkumen »

Changes to the Mormon temple endowment: a historical and personal perspective. (Long episode)

The LDS temple is one of the most distinctive aspects of Mormonism. It excites controversy, and even some members of the LDS faith are not comfortable with it. I stand out a little from the pack of ex-LDS people in that I always enjoyed the temple. I try to help everyone understand the temple a little better, and especially why it may be that it causes discomfort. That discomfort may contribute to ongoing changes to the ritual. Sorry it's long, but this is a complicated topic.

I apologize for it being long. It lays out some of my big picture views on the temple and Mormonism in the context of Western history. Of you stick with it, you will definitely learn something, but it is a long episode.

I enjoyed that, Kish. Once again, I’m just blown away that the Lord has brought me down this road of my life of intersecting Mormonism, that I would have not have chosen for myself. In some ways, I believe I know where some things in my life are headed with this trajectory He has placed me on. Time will tell. All I know is that I can entrust where He leads and know that it is purposed to accomplish His divine decree. Thanks be to God that He has set the boundaries of our habitation… that we might seek God and find Him.
