The author has an amazingly high opinion of the bridge thing. That coffee joke is good.

Markk and Kish, you guys are two of my favorite posters here. One thing that might help cool the jets a little is to remember that a person's beliefs can change drastically over time.

I'm a prime example of how beliefs can and do change when confronted with new evidence. For example, 5 years ago I firmly believed the Afore was nothing more than an arrogant, dishonest blowhard. Now I firmly believe the Afore is an arrogant dishonest, plagiarizing, homophobic and antisemitic blowhard with sociopathic tendencies.

Hmm. I don't think so. If you mean a view of him where one first requires acceptance of the esoteric nature (as defined by you) of his supernatural offerings? Maybe. But historically? No. Many here have invested considerably in those studies, and do not agree with your assessments. It would be interesting to hear of your beliefs, absent the unrelenting disparagement of those you continually tell us are less erudite than yourself.

It will be a cold day in hell before I take your advice on history.

It is even a larger responsibility existence to just type drive by snarky insults about folks as a yes man for your tribe, without the ability and/or compacity to back up your ignorant accusations and comments....or offer original thought on a discussion forum largely designed for arguments by critics of.... faith, politics, religion, sex, gender, and generally, opposing interests of life.

That’s kind of sort of my line of thinking as I’ve read some of this exchange. I think there can be times in person’s life where they are still formulating their beliefs, and maybe it isn’t possible at the time to state a fully formulated set of beliefs. Plus, there is nothing saying anyone has to share their beliefs if they don’t want to.

Thank you, msnobody. I appreciate your perceptive read of this situation. I don’t think one needs to share personal spiritual views to have an opinion on the meaning of the word Christian, which I have already shared: follower of Christ (controversial?); and the Church of Christ: consisting of all of his followers regardless of any one group’s (no matter how large or small) excluding definition of these terms.
