But meddling in world affairs only to benefit America is exactly what President Trump and the America first movement seeks to do. For those that think America first is selfish and want to fight this agenda at every turn, perhaps this is why we need a national divorce.

We certainly don't need to remain a united country for the purpose of military strength and protecting our interests militarily at home or abroad as we once did. What we actually need is more sovereign states as the constitution intended.

It sounds as if you’re either (1) dismissing the need to defend US economic or security interests abroad, or (2) believing that you can carry on as usual after your proposed ‘national divorce’.

If the latter, you might want to review a map of stateside commercial and naval ports. If we divided the country up today according to if they swung D or R in this election, the New Confederacy would be at a distinct disadvantage overall, and would have no presence on the entire western seaboard, unless you want to count Alaska. Even Hawaii is a ‘blue’ state.

Militarily speaking, all US carrier groups are home based in CA, VA or abroad.

The New Confederacy won’t be projecting any real military strength abroad and would have a tough time just defensively covering their butts. If you think that splitting up the US to serve some weird fetish reasoning is going to make the New Confederacy some sort of international economic and military powerhouse, you’re going to be very disappointed.

If you were referring to the first option above, you’ll at least need to keep all of those horrible illegals around that you want to get rid of, or your agricultural strength is going to decline, too.
