That's frightening because he makes no secret of his determination to try to justify prosecting any politician or journalist with whom he has a disagreement. I don't think he would hesitate to try to get away with ignoring or violating the 1st amendment guarantee of freedom of speech and of the press for any criticism of conservative policies or actions, no matter how egregious or corrupt. I hope there are enough Republican Senators who have both enough sense and backbone to oppose him.
Isn't becoming ever more glaringly obvious that Trump is preferring to nominate people who are either already corrupt or easily corruptible over people with high moral character and respect for the laws? Loyalty to himself above all is very obviously the overriding criterion for his choice of nominees, no matter how many get hurt, as long as he is not among the hurt.

I think in general for MAGA these crimes are a bonus rather than a negative. I think the accusations against him were a boon for his nomination by Trump, as Trump is going for maximum controversy and boundary crossing. If it outrages Democrats, then how can it be bad?
If the sex crimes are "red-blooded male dominance" type sex crimes then there is no way the perpetrator can be woke. Now, had the incidents been with male prostitutes, let's see if MAGA is so okay with it. Drugs aren't a big deal either. When men become born again Christians, drug use is heavily bragged about -- it's sort of a "I was so bad" badge of honor. My right-wing friend has endless stories about his drug use before becoming a Christian among many other illicit things. It's all "alpha male" type sinning, so it's okay, or even good.
We can't take farmers and take all their people and send them back because they don't have maybe what they're supposed to have. They get rid of some of the people who have been there for 25 years and they work great and then you throw them out and they're replaced by criminals.
