I got to believe that the antidote to Trump is populism on the left. America First lefty style? So, double down on DOGE, DOGE 2.0 perhaps. Clean up the waste and spend it on projects here at home. Feed the poor here. House the homeless. Cut the DOD budget in half or by 75%. Pay down the debt. Stick it to today's Republicans that grabbed the neocon torch from McCain and Romney. The old lefty politics and commentators of the 1970's and 1980's complained about USAID fomenting revolution, and meddling in foreign politics on behalf of the 1%. They were against the Vietnam War and the wars in Central America and passed the Bolen Amendment that prohibited the funding of the war in Nicaragua, causing the neocons and Oliver North to break the law (Iran Contra). Today the democratic party is for endless war because the neocons have shifted over to the democrats and have propagandized everyone to death. These warmongers need to be excommunicated from the democrats and the country. All I am saying is give peace a chance ....
Going back to the old left policies will bring the election back to the democrats and how about getting a better candidate next time? Let's have a fight over who has the better populism instead of who can suck up to Wall Street the best.
