And foreign countries no longer respect the U.S. because we have an idiotic clown in office who is uneducated and arrogantly stupid. The whole world is laughing at us.
Apparently, one cannot recognize a damned clown if one hates immigrants... or something.

If people like Markk think the world's laughing at us over Biden and are afraid of Trump, he is as daft as I've been saying all along. I know many people overseas. To them, Trump is a damned laughing stock, and can't believe Americans are so stupid to have voted for him. You know, like everyone else with a functional brain.

The world thinks we're morons and I have no counterarguments. Markk is incompetent, because he, himself, doesn't recognize gross incompetence. He actually admires things about Idiot, the most incompetent public figure I've even been made aware of. Forget about the fact that he's a rapist, a tax cheat, and a traitor to the US. He's damned incompetent. This is the GOP champion. A complete “F” up.

I hate the Republican base. They are all stupid damned assholes.

That pretty much sums up Trump. I am genuinely disturbed by anyone who can overlook those attributes. What damage does it do to one's character to convince themselves to vote for someone like that?

I live in one foreign country, and for certain reasons I see quite a number of people from a range of different countries on a daily basis, including some Americans. I have met no-one who sees Trump as anything but a disaster for the US, and for the world. To us looking at the US as concerned and not badly-informed outsiders it is obvious that, despite all his talk about making America great and doing stuff for the US middle class, Trump has only one object in life: to get the maximum of power, money and servile adulation for himself. I must admit, he is quite good at that.

Harris might not have been a particularly exciting President, but she would at least have felt obliged to attempt to behave with basic decency and competence in office, based on respect for the US constitution she swore an oath to uphold. She might even have done a good deal better. And yet, faced with the choice between her and Trump many Americans simply did not bother to vote, and most who did vote chose ... the thing that currently squats in the Oval Office.

Actually he is starting to straighten out the mess that Biden left us in. Despite his style, he reflects strength, while Biden reflected, as Morley put it well, a bumbling, incompetent, grandpa. If he saw it in the debate, what do you think our adversaries and allies were seeing? Foreign countries respect strength and not weakness, it is just the way it is.

There you have it Markk, from someone who actually is from a foreign country, and who is one of the most highly respected, intelligent and eloquent people who frequents this discussion site. I have been following what other people and leaders of other countries say too, and like chap, I know of no one ". . . who sees Trump as anything but a disaster for the US, and for the world . . . it is obvious that, despite all his talk about making America great and doing stuff for the US middle class, Trump has only one object in life: to get the maximum of power, money and servile adulation for himself."

It both amazes and dismays me how you still cannot also see that glaringly obvious fact! Yet another textbook example of backfire effect!
Did you see this post about thoroughly Trump embarrassed himself with the German Chancellor in their Oval Office meeting?

Now let us compare Biden's alleged dementia and poor cognizant capacity with Trump's embarrassing performance available for all to see when he recently hosted the German chancellor in the Oval Office: Donald Trump LEAVES GERMAN CHANCELLOR CONFUSED After Insane Oval Office Visit!!!

First of all, the German leader actually speaks better English than Trump does. Next, when the Chancellor talked about D Day and the importance of standing up to Russia's criminal aggression against Ukraine, Trump boasted incoherently about how great the U.S. economy was doing under his current administration, including how he had reduced the price of eggs by 400%! Fantastic! This would mean that our nation's grocery stores are now having to pay their customers 3 times their previous costs just to take all those eggs off their hands! Trump, allegedly (according to him) a brilliant graduate of the highly prestigious Wharton School of business and economics, can't even do basic arithmetic correctly!

He completely ignored what the Chancellor had said about the U.S. helping Ukraine and began an incoherent boast lying about how he was improving the U.S. economy!
As one of the commentators said:
Kudos to the German Chancellor for not bursting into unstoppable laughs
Indeed!

That's because the 71 million people who voted for Trump are busy working rather than putting themselves through expensive and uncomfortable plane rides across the Atlantic. The beautiful British Isles of my ancestors is no more. Thankfully my ancestors earned me a new birthright and created a culture of faith where I would prefer to build and spend my life.
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

[Gunnar is quoting another post]

Trump, allegedly (according to him) a brilliant graduate of the highly prestigious Wharton School of business and economics, can't even do basic arithmetic correctly!
This is a very striking example of Trump's strange mental state. He seems at times to be paying no attention to what the German Chancellor (who leads a large and rich European country vital to the future of NATO) is saying, and instead talks about his 'wonderful numbers' and the price of eggs.

That 'price of eggs' business needs to be underlined. It is simply nonsensical to say that the price of eggs has fallen by 400%. Here is how it works.
Suppose eggs cost $10 a box.
100% of $10 is $10.
50% of $10 is $5.

So if the price of eggs halves - i.e. goes down to $5 - the price has fallen by 50%. Nice if it happened, and makes perfect sense in math terms.

If the price of eggs goes down by 100% (which is $10, remember) it would have fallen from $10 to ZERO, $0. If that happened (unlikely), eggs would be given away free in supermarkets.

Now, if 100% of $10 is $10, 400% of $10 is $40. So if the price of eggs falls 400%, it will go down from:
$10 to $10 - $40 = - $30, that is, minus $30.

That's a negative price. It means that the customer isn't paying anything - they are actually being paid $30 to take the eggs away.

CONCLUSION:

Anybody who boasts of the price of eggs falling 400% is either deeply ignorant, or mentally confused. What is your favoured option for the President of the world's richest and most powerful country?

So, it hurt when I told you that I wasn’t fond of Bramblitt? Or when I suggested I thought that he wasn’t good enough to get any recognition at all, if he weren’t blind?
Lol...No, it just showed how you think and were being condescending given the thread. You are gentle compared to other folks here Morley, and whether you believe it or not I respect you. If I got offended over things said about me here I would not have been posting here for what....20 years?

Lol, Schmo calls me cuss words I have never even heard before, and I have been in construction for about 50 years.
Markk, since my reply is a bit off topic for this thread, I've kicked it over to the art thread.

Well, those truck nuts and MAGA trading cards aren’t going to pay for themselves.

Your ancestors abandoned your country to become immigrants elsewhere because they felt that such a move was essential for the survival of their family. It’s odd that you cannot imagine that this still happens for that reason today.

You just don’t realize that you’re hearing them, because they’re being spoken in a different language. : )
