Who the heck decided this was a good addition?? It’s laughably bad.

Looking at the bottom, it seems to be some sort of pandering to an African American inclusivity. I wonder how those who sang this would feel about a bunch of white people in a church with such a racist history singing this.

It’s an anthem for those keen to condition members into compliance with their nefarious schemes and activities. An anthem to affinity fraud, and a confession that Mormon God is a user of people.

No doubt to the African American Christian churches this is a powerful hymn that expresses their devotion to God. It seems the Mormon Church looked at how indoctrinaty it could be for their members though so snatched it up.

I listened to it, it’s a cool song, but I think it runs counter to everything Sacrament meeting has been branded to be. Maybe this means testimonies and talks wont be stale either in the future?

[Brigham was supposed to be a Prophet, Seer, and Revelator. Surely he could supernaturally see the future where blacks and whites were equal?

That's debatable. Prophets may be able to see around the corner but how far down the street they can see or are allowed to see may vary. And that is up to God.

The hallmark of a Prophet is specifically that they are NOT men of their time.

How can they not be? They are human beings just like you and me. With the exception that they hold Priesthood keys and are allowed special revelation when the Lord wills.

How can they not be? Stop belittling your leaders special powers. They’re Prophets, Seers, and Revelators. Those attributes remove them as “men of their time” and make them “men of the future”. Unless you’re saying they don’t really get special insight, in which case they aren’t Prophets, Seers, and Revelators.

You have made a conscious decision to disallow for prophets and apostles of the LDS Church to act as stewards of the Keys of the Kingdom and all that this would entail. I would expect that you would have a certain view of what apostles and prophets should do in order to protect your worldview and disbelief.

You have never said, to the best of my recollection, whether or not you are Christian and believe in God. I think that whether or not you do is going to have at least a little impact on your view in regards to those that claim to speak and act in behalf of the Christian God.
