People in America only care about one thing right now, making / keeping more money. It's no surprise the candidate focused on that the most won the primary. If the DNC had any sense, they'd focus on that message and stop purity testing on whether their candidates are friendly enough to Israel.

Also, I know N.Y. is pretty liberal, however, I don't think they were ready for his slogan "when I think about Israel I touch myself." He should go back to sexually assaulting his staff and leave Israel alone. They have too many important matters right now to have to deal with this guy.

Regardless of any particular policy opinions it has been interesting to watch how Mamdani has messaged himself and his position. We've gone back and forth on this a million times already but I'm of the firm position that when Democrats do well it is because they focus on issues and their plans for them. He ran a proactive campaign that focused primarily on local issues and took his message to the people with a fairly impressive ground game. I'm not certain all of his policy positions are going to translate well across the country, but I think the playbook he used is definitely one worth studying.
I'm more-so just disgusted that Cuomo was the best that centrist Democrats could muster. The Overton Window of sexual predators in politics has truly finally fully shifted. On the plus side, he at least never purposefully walked in on kids getting dressed, and then bragged about it. So I guess Democrats still have a little ways to go.
QFT, if establishment Democrats want to stop having their shizz handed back to them they're going to have to learn how to actually select palatable candidates. That they honestly thought this was a good idea is mind-boggling.

How many millionaires and billionaires are going to stick around in New York City to stand in the bread lines at government controlled grocery store? What worries me is that when this happens, these same leftists who voted for communism will just start pouring into Florida and continue voting in accordance with their failed ideology. DeSantis is going to need to put a ban on immigration by anyone who voted for this guy. They can go to Cuba or Venezuela but they are not welcome in Florida.

I think there is an overreaction to his election going on, but I could be mistaken. It seems when someone is looking out for the people, like say pushing for higher wages, better working conditions or reasonable rent, they are branded as communists or socialists and the fearmongering starts. Poor millionaires and billionaires having to deal with the specter of an upstart that wants to give the people a small break.
