[MODERATOR NOTE: MG 2.0, please stop hitting the "Enter" key after every period. Instead, please allow your paragraphs to have more than one sentence each.

Thank you.]
Shades, MG irritates me as much as he does anyone else. I've made no secret of this. He often acts the troll who enjoys pushing envelope. It gets in the way of discussion and drives me up the wall.

I'm going to side with him on this one, however. I think that, stylistically, MG should be allowed to post this way.

The reason I think this is because you let others do so. For example, I'm pretty sure that consiglieri hits <enter> at the end of every sentence he types. He's done this since he began posting here, years ago. He does it now. This has never been an issue, as it's a part of his style. To my knowledge, you've never issued a word of reprimand to him.

To reprimand MG for something that you've allowed others to do seems grossly unfair.
I made that point earlier. Your words may mean more than mine. And yes, we can all become frustrated with each other at times.

I know I do.

I like being able to have something said stand apart from the rest. Thus the return/space. I didn't have any idea it was a 'thing' until...surprise surprise.

I"m the only one that tried to push back...so thanks for chiming in.

Regards,
MG

consiglieri posts far less often than MG 2.0 does, so I guess I just don't see it anywhere near as often from him.

consiglieri has not yet reached 900 posts, MG 2.0 is very close to hitting the 6,000 posts milestone.
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

Then why not just use the bolding, underlining, or italics for which the English language allows?

I got the impression that has wanted to make each of several lines of test stand out, not words or phrases within a line.

That's why I suggested (and gave an example of) ordered and unordered lists. If I understood his reply - "Yeah...I've been doing the things the same way for years. It works and it's easy. " - I think he has a strong preference for not using the inbuilt formatting features of the board.

I've done that too! It's kind of a mix.

I honestly did/do not even see what all the hullabaloo is about. As has been mentioned other posters have probably been doing the same/similar things and there hasn't been a lead blowing in the wind.

And now we had/have a storm. Hard to figure out...why now?

But as I said, I will try and abide by Shade's more or less new rule...or new emphasis on an old rule/practice. Here's the problem, however. We've already had IHQ being a 'board nanny' and being a 'return key'moderator'.

That's not cool. Especially if it takes us away from the discussion at hand...which it did. For some strange reason he follows me around, as does Marcus, looking or and not picking stuff and it ends up derailing discussions.

I don't think this adds to discussions. It only wastes time by focusing on a poster rather than substantiave back and forth.

It would be nice, in my opinion, if this would stop. I REALLY feel like it's a waste of everyone's time.

MG, I know you're still upset about "things", but your constant repetition of all the details is getting a bit like "and it came to pass."

Yes, I know I can just skip past your comments, and probably should do so.

I guess you can add me to your list of "nannies".

His 'upsetness' is part of the troll act. It has long been my opinion that he is here to attempt to disrupt and provoke. It's a sick hobby to have, but then, the psychological makeup of an internet troll is pretty sick as well.
Online trolls have a certain set of personality traits and behavior patterns that can be identified. While not every troll fits into the same mold, there are some recognizable characteristics of online trolls that may help us to better understand the psychology behind their actions.

One of the most common characteristics of online trolls is an urge to seek attention or validation from others in an often negative or provocative way. They will usually post comments or messages on social media platforms with the intention of provoking a reaction from other users. This type of trolling behavior often takes the form of insults, threats, or generally inflammatory content which can quickly lead to arguments and heated debates within comment sections.

Another characteristic commonly seen amongst online trolls is a lack of empathy for those they interact with. Trolls tend to view other people as objects rather than individuals and consequently fail to consider how their words might affect another person’s feelings. In addition, many trolls take pleasure in causing distress to other users without feeling any remorse over their own conduct. These tendencies make it difficult for them to accept responsibility for their words and discourage them from engaging in meaningful dialogue with those they target.

The combination of these two types of behaviors creates a hostile environment where constructive conversations become increasingly difficult and can even cause long-term damage if left unchecked...

Getting old and repetitive, Marcus. Think what you will. You don't have it right. Didn't before, don't now.
