Did you see my response above your post?!!! (Also, Markk should realize that when he angry-posts, his sentence structure goes to hell but interestingly, his minor spelling glitches improve. Sadly, logic is not his thing regardless of his mood.)Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 4:13 amThis is me (again):Markk wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 2:33 amMarcus is absolutely the worse educator around. And I see no reason to waste my time to see whether I am being fair with my opinion here. Same logic Morley, and beyond irresponsible and pretty much academically corrupt.

Emphasis mine.
Sorry about the delayed response. Making my nightly descent into hell and needed to micro a heatpack.
Nailed it to the wall. Doesn't know where you teach, what you teach or even IF you teach but damn sure you suck at it!Marcus wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 4:10 amMarkk wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 2:33 am...Marcus is absolutely the worse educator around. I am sure that Morley will agree with me that reading this from someone who posts the way you do is a tremendous compliment to both of us.
Your adding that you have formed this opinion 1) without knowing anything about us, 2) without knowing whether you are being fair, and 3) without 'wasting any time' on research and instead just trusting your gut is just icing on the cake. Chef's kiss to you, you amusing little fool.
(Apropos of nothing at all whatsoever, have you seen the movie "Idiocracy"?)

His Twitter (X) feed is where his real sentiments will be found. That’s where his actual and active audience is.Gadianton wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 3:26 amIn search for a pro-Cooper perspective, since Markk can't make a case, I've come across some interesting tid-bits. Check out this Reddit post that seems to agree with both Markk and also agree with the rest of us:
I've listened to all of the public episodes of MartyrMade and they're some of the best and most insightful history podcasts available. He's actually injecting some original thought, not just reading a textbook (sorry Mike Duncan fans).
But then you look at his Twitter feed and it's just all unhinged replacement theory nonsense. I'm not even reacting to the politics of it, just the baseless conspiracy theories he signs on to. How is it possible for one person to have densely researched, extremely thoughtful podcasts about history but also look at the world around them and believe every reactionary meme?

Re: WW2 politics, and leading up to the War and beyond...
After reading through this whole 50 + page thread I can't say I learned any truly relevant and verifiable facts about WW2 that that I did not know before reading this. I already knew that both Hitler and Stalin were evil, murderous men. I knew that the Nazis wanted to exterminate all Jews they could; whether that was their intent from the beginning or whether they thought it was somehow more compassionate to gas them than shoot them is irrelevant, as far as I am concerned. I already knew that Franklin Roosevelt's sympathy was with the allies from the beginning, but I am far from convinced that he knew or hoped that Japan would attack Pearl Harbor (though I don't entirely discount that possibility).
I know that allying with Russia, as distasteful as that was, was probably essential to defeating the axis powers and was the lesser evil of the options available to us. I don't think the reality of the winter war between Finland and Russia was as obscure and little known as Markk seems to think. I was familiar with the history of that before Markk was born, unless he is a lot older than I think he is. I would hope that we all agree, including Markk and Cooper, that WW2 was an abominable part of human history and that defeating the Nazis and their allies was a necessary and good thing. That is by far the most important takeaway of this discussion. By comparison, much of the arguing over the differences of opinion over the actions and motivations of the heroes and villains participating in that abominable episode in our history seems largely irrelevant to me.

No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

To be fair, I think Markk was trying to show how ridiculous it would be if he made this kind of a judgement about you without knowing you. But, of course, I could be misreading his intent.Marcus wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 4:10 amMarkk wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 2:33 am...Marcus is absolutely the worse educator around. Lol, actually I know that Morley will understand, although he is probably too proud to admit it, that you just proved my point of what I wrote, by your not even reading what prompted me to write my mock example of how the so called educators here approach their criticisms of others. Lol, classic full circle to my point, and you ironically unwittily mock yourself.Marcus wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 4:10 amMarkk wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 2:33 am...Marcus is absolutely the worse educator around. Lol. Thanks! I just read this. I apologize to you for my comment about you being too proud, however you did have to walk it back a bit, knowing full well what I meant.Morley wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 1:56 pmTo be fair, I think Markk was trying to show how ridiculous it would be if he made this kind of a judgement about you without knowing you.
