Regressives know that T&A helps endear them to the American public and helps sell them on fascism.

Jiggly white frauleins handing out steins of beer at Oktoberfest will gladden the hearts of many MAGAs.

Seems like the republicans are taking out the tried and true communism label and calling it "cultural marxism" and then putting it on their opponents. From what I just read, cultural marxism was a critique on the ruling class in society using existing cultural norms as a mechanism of control, like the right does and like the left does as well. The group moving together against this or that at the behest of group leadership and and a violation of whatever direction the leaders want could and does risk excommunication. I would say that the conspiracy theory view of cultural marxism puts the original meaning on its head. It's really one team trying to push nonsense on the other team in order to get some sort of meaningless separation. Republicans love religious themes and their religion is continually under attack! (because of what their leaders do when they try to force values onto the rest). The left does the same thing with their woke, DEI stuff.
The manic panic over Marxism is interesting. Plutocrats have done a great job of making their plebs terrified of it. If you can't find actual economic Marxists, you gotta start turning over every stone to find anything adjacent to it and hold it up for your followers to freak out over.

Gotta give props to the ‘insane progressives’ who are choosing to call out blockheaded advertising campaigns alluding to genetics, as compared to their MAGA counterparts who are actively working to bury the records of child abusers and traffickers.
Sure. Or we could all focus on serious issues instead of denim-clad cheesecake.
I note that the first person on this board to bring up the topic of this ad is Hound, and he will be the last person to talk about Epstein. MAGA priorities, yo.
True. Hound is relentlessly committed to his strategy of lampooning the identity politics of the extreme left. As I have repeatedly said in the past, identity politics are a loser of a strategy for anyone.

Because it's not fair that Lizzo doesn't get the same attention as Sydney Sweeney. The only solution is more government regulation in advertising. For every Sydney Sweeney commercial, companies will now have to pay Lizzo ten times that because, unattractive fat girls need modeling contracts too. Why should they have to put in effort and use their mind to make a living when other people don't. It's just not fair and the federal government is responsible for making life fair, don't you see?

Personally I'm kind of repulsed by commercials that use scantilly clad women to sell a product, but it should be a free country.
I congratulate Lizzo for trimming up in her quest to be fitter. She has made a lot of progress. Some people are genetically gifted to be thin. She is working hard to amplify her beauty. I think that's great.

That's right. I said it. Genetically gifted.

Others are genetically gifted with an extremely high IQ. (Wish I had more of that.)

I think it is fair to say that we will never see an enforced leveling of society such that the gifted are denied the enjoyment of their gifts.

I’m still willing to believe that some people can focus on several issues at once.

I just love the irony of someone who changed their natural hair color, who uses fake tan products to mimic increased melanin, uses lip fillers to mimic what other ethnicities generally have in abundance naturally, chose to do an ad playing on the homophone of good genes/jeans. "I have good genes, which is why I spend money trying to hide how those genes are expressed."

Other than that, I’m kind of an outlier amongst the woke mob I guess, inasmuch I just can’t see the eugenics/white supremacy angle. There’s the “personality” line in the ad that’s classic eugenics, but I don’t think there was some conscious effort to utilize it that way. Most people (including ad executives) likely aren't elbows deep in genetics debates and research.

To me, they just took someone who is stereotypically beautiful according to most current societal norms, and did a play on genes/jeans. They probably never anticipated it going the route it did... but they are probably loving that it did. Controversy spurs conversation which ultimately elevates brand awareness. I didn't even know American Eagle was a thing before this.

THE YEAR WAS 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren't only equal before God and the law. They were equal every which way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was better looking than anybody else. Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else. All this equality was due to the 211th, 212th, and 213th Amendments to the Constitution, and to the unceasing vigilance of agents of the United States Handicapper General.

Another 50 years of "progress" from progressive politics and this is exactly where we'll be.
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Somehow I find myself thinking that the people complaining about the ad are primarily trying to draw attention to themselves. Eugenics? That is really silly.

Not a snowball's chance in a forest fire. Nothing is happening anywhere at all like this. Nobody wants this now nor will they 100 years from now.

I’m pretty much on board with this take, but I believe that there was at least one person on the creative development team who ‘got’ the inside joke, and was hoping that there would be some degree of controversy, resulting in more exposure.
