Re: CWK: Platforming Polygamy Deniers
I did produce a #43--it was the Smithmas Special--but someone requested I mothball it for personal reasons that will remain confidential.Tom wrote: ↑Thu Jul 31, 2025 10:41 pmUnderstood. To clarify, my curiosity is mainly directed to whether the blowback occurred on Facebook or if the discussion has taken place somewhere else (and less about the personal aspects and details of the kerfuffle). I’m a loyal user of Google+ and haven’t made the leap to Facebook. I fear that I am out of the loop on Mormon things.
On a related note, I see that a Sunstone Symposium session tomorrow featuring Mary Ann Clements as the speaker is titled, “Giving Oxygen to Conspiracy Theories? Why Scholars Need to Address Polygamy ‘Truther’ Arguments.”
One other question: did you produce an episode 43?
On the blowback: I have followed it mainly on Facebook. There is a lot of Mormon Studies stuff unfolding on Facebook. Benjamin Park, Taylor Petrey, and Christopher Blythe are very active there, as are Maxine Hanks, Clair Barrus, Cheryl Bruno, and Don Bradley.
