This video about LDS handwringing with wars to come before the imminent second coming, has an almost identical look and feel to shows like American Pickers, Deadliest Catch, etc. The production quality is extremely high and deliberately taken from the Discovery channel playbook to lend it an air of authority.

It’s probably very comforting to Mormons to see their fantasy worldview wrapped in the same veneer as legitimate historical documentaries.

A “roundtable” featuring only 2 people? And one of the people never even appears on camera but just occasionally interjects as a disembodied voice?? And that poor, unseen soul is…Martin Tanner?

You know, I noticed the Afore making some passive-aggressive jokes recently about Tanner’s status at Interpreter, and yet look at this. Plus, has his bio at Interpreter been updated yet, or is it still blank?

It would seem that the volunteers for the organization are treated with a lot of disrespect….

Content is the primary component. What are your thoughts about the war chapters in the Book of Mormon that are being discussed in this conversation? Was there something in the conversation you took issue with or on the other hand may have added to your belief/testimony in the Book of Mormon?

You mean the part where they made swords after the manner of Laban that cankered? Swords that were sheathed? (which eliminates Macuahuitl) Several million of these swords made after the manner of Laban? An ingenious technological advance that they abandoned ? Swords that haven't been found? Many more where this came from if you want to listen to Book of Mormon Waterloo from RFM. I especially like the Teancum fiasco.
