The Church has completely refused to address the problem of the copied KJV Bible content in the Book of Mormon. Because they know what it is and what it means. They let shills like Peterson tell the lies for them.
Peterson is a dope. Who the hell ever gave him a diploma? He isn't fit to teach 5th graders.
KJV In the Book of Mormon is part of the revealed translation process. That being in conjunction with "the gift and power of God".
"Revealed translation process"
We are quite familiar with Joseph Smith's translations. He claimed to translate a foreign language into English:
Students at BYU can now, quite rightly, inform their professors that it’s not plagiarism it’s “revealed translation”. Brilliant!
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.
KJV In the Book of Mormon is part of the revealed translation process. That being in conjunction with "the gift and power of God".
The so-called gift and power of Mormon-God also demands we embrace false Judaism that chronicled the birth of Egypt as occurring in 2300 BC., as attested in chapter 1 of the Book of Abraham.
Students at BYU can now, quite rightly, inform their professors that it’s not plagiarism it’s “revealed translation”. Brilliant!
Students can also inform their professors how the Book of Abraham coupled with official Church periodicals that date back to Joseph Smith and continue even today inform us that Egypt was first established in 2300 BC.
KJV In the Book of Mormon is part of the revealed translation process. That being in conjunction with "the gift and power of God".
Nonsense. It’s verbatim copying of the KJV Bible, including syntax and errors made in the 17th Century. Stop being dishonest.
It appears that MG is dishonest as was Joseph Smith. You see, Smith pretended to translate a foreign language into English on two occasions:
1. Gold Plates
2. Papyrus
But we learn that combinations contained only in the KJV were transferred almost word verbatim into Smith's novel. Unbeknown to Smith, this was a blunder and tell-tale sign that Smith was faking it. Gotcha, Joe!
Likewise, we learn that Smith's so-called revealed translation process informs the world that a king's name is contained in the hieroglyphic characters above the person of Fig. 2 of Facsimile No. 3. But Smith was wrong because he had a bad spirit and was lying.
KJV In the Book of Mormon is part of the revealed translation process. That being in conjunction with "the gift and power of God".

MG

If you take God and angels out of the picture it would paint a pretty damning picture. The fact is, if the Book of Mormon is the revealed word of God the translation process would have been a revealed translation process. Before the translation process began in earnest Joseph didn't have a clue as to how to 'translate'. That process was given him from God in a tutoring process. That's what believers believe. You, of course, can continue to take God and angels out of the picture. By doing so you can find yourself in the 'right' where certain 'proofs' are not available.
But you are relying wholly upon the 'arm of the flesh'. That's a hard thing NOT to do admittedly.

We've been down the Book of Abraham road before. I don't think the church rises or falls on the Book of Abraham being explicitly true in all of its parts. I do think that eternal doctrine is encapsulated within its pages though. God has a way in which He is able to get in His word edgewise. Even when done within the exegetic midrash of sincere seekers and storytellers found in the writings of the local newspaper, Times and Seasons.

I'm impervious to your tricks and deception. Either you accept all of the Book of Abraham as the word of God or you do not.
You deserve the excommunication Joseph Smith would have given you had you lived in Kirtland or Nauvoo.
