And rightfully so. The supporters of this madness may not be convinced by harsh words, but I think it's appropriate that they know how we feel about the situation.
Thanks, Gad. That's exactly how I think about it too. I suppose a part of me thinks they should at least realize we think they should be embarrassed.

But I don't think much of their intelligence, so I doubt it registers. Which brings me back to understanding that all I'm really doing here is ranting to get the anger out of my system.

I don't think it's about their intelligence. I think it's about their psychology which compromises their ability to think critically that leads one to fact check and discover truth for out of psychological fear, and involves moral licensing. In other words they are willing to grant license to (in this case) ANYTHING that fills the psychological need no matter his dishonest and/or immoral it actually is.

I'll show myself off the thread now. ;)

I think you're on to something here, so this is a situation where we kind of both agree and disagree at the same time.

Lately I've been thinking a lot about how a Trump vote is somewhat infectious, in that if people perceive that many others are willing to do a morally questionable thing, it's probably ok for them to do it too. Herd mentality, and all that. As George Carlin liked to say, individuals are lovely. It's when people join a group that their IQ drops 30 points (I'm paraphrasing). Trump voters think they're part of something important. That makes them damned dumb.

I think it's a mark of low to average intelligence to not eventually recognize group herd behavior and avoid it.

Yep. I think we're just looking at two different aspects of the same situation. Both objecting to it regardless of what tool we use to evaluate it. Intelligence v. psychology. I'm not exactly sure how to resolve that but I don't think we need to. Maybe...we can think about Carlin's commentary on groups as when people act in groups or herds, they suspend thinking and simply act without consideration to the consequences (to themselves or others) because the action itself fills a deep psychological need for power, control that elevates their poor self image.

Oh boy. I think I got close right there! :D

Oh and (Did I mention I have read any of this whole thread? I'm winging it.) maybe they experience reward from Trump (big time powerful billionaire now President) even though he's actually twisting a knife in their backs at the same time he's praising them.

And even though Trump has failed at every business venture he's ever attempted in his whole entire life while screwing over everyone in his path. Now he's screwing them and some folks I guess are just oblivious to it because one's psychology can act like a drug. Don't believe me? Look at what the narc in the White House is doing every day of his life to get his supply.

Hopefully their reward will come with a nice invitation to the golden ballroom no one needs, a tour of the rose garden that is now a parking lot, and let's not forget a visit to the Oval Office that now looks like an actual whore house. Well I guess that's appropriate enough so I probably shouldn't criticize it.

The corporate media and the democrats laid some exaggerated nonsense on Trump over the years like politicos do, and maga religiously supports him regardless of what's going on in Gaza or Epstein or whatever.
It occurred to me that what you're really saying here is that you think Democrats have made Trump look worse than he actually is. Is that what you're actually claiming? I just want to make sure before I react to that insane idea.

Just a preview: Democrats don't have to spin anything to make Trump look bad. He does that perfectly well on all his own. Have you actually listened to him speak? If so, were you half asleep?

Here's the thing: there have been people and businesses that I really believed in at first. But they only have to screw me once for me to turn on them. I don't take assholery lightly. I don't have a problem admitting I was wrong about a person/business after they show their true colors.

If your identity and sense of pride are so wrapped up in a thing that is actively damned you over and you accept it, well... that's damned dumb. Whether it's phycology or intelligence is irrelevant. These kind of people suck at taking care of themselves.

Well, thanks to Trump voters, we’re now getting Trumpflation:
Im sure everyone in general is experiencing more and more expensive groceries. BUT TODAY :0! Had me looking around like I was dreaming. I spend about a 100$ -150$ in groceries for the month just for myself and that's covering the whole month including cleaners and toiletries. I think its always worked for me and its a fair budget. I go to Winco I think they have some good prices usually TODAY! Mouth wash -9$ FOR THE SMALL BOTTLE Tide powder detergent i buy maybe once every three months - 23$!! FOR THE SMALL BOX
He’s weaponized white racism, see Ajax18 for example, to tax the crap out of us with his tariffs. This is causing suppliers to increase their prices across the board. I’m sorry, but if you’re getting mad at a guy on the Internet because he’s cussing about Trump and his voters, your priorities and theirs are all sorts of self-defeating. Are ya winning yet, son?
