Everyone in our culture, including people on the extreme right, are steeped in cultural Marxism because Marxism has had such a huge impact on intellectual history! A few years back I stumbled upon Jordan Peterson presentations and with some mixed feeling found some interest. I felt cautious and a bit suspicious about his concern over cultural Marxists having outsized influence in higher education. It being many years since I had been participating in higher education I looked about various ways including his pointers. In very liberal colleges there are some extremists. That seems short of an overwhelming scourge. Frankly what I read about cultural Marxism was dull and faded from my mind. I realize more original sources should have more depth and be perhaps more memorable.

Google provides easy AI summaries of cultural Marxist considerations. For arts money and patronage strongly influence production perhaps hampering expression. This is hardly some surprising discovery. It is a cliché and I very much doubt dependant upon Marxist analysis. I also read this analysis reveals that Van Gogh potatoes is not just picturesque farm folks but comment on structural social injustice. Somehow I was able to notice that while still a grade schooler and i am certainly no precocious genius.

I should be cautious of AI sources but what was there for cultural Marxism appeared to be a dreary field of cliches. Common enough to not depend upon nor have been first created via Marxist concern. However Marxist is a big enough category it can serve as a convenient label.
