And how, after decades of a regular friendship, do you still not know what he was going through?
If he made your life hell while you were together as missionaries, he must do the same when you are together now as friends. Or is your relationship with him less real now?

Yeah, well the good ones weren’t memorable, just boring. That’s why I say they were “all” bad in a colloquial sense, and not a statistical sense. But thanks for your input Aristotle Smith/Defender/Sidewinder/Gadianton. Where did you end up serving? Stateside I am assuming?Gadianton wrote: ↑Thu Aug 21, 2025 11:13 pmSledge/Flemming/Nolan,
What do you consider to be a bad companion? It's unusual to have all bad comps except for one. I only had one comp I couldn't get along with but wouldn't say he was "bad". I can't recall any missionary in my mission that I'd consider "bad" in fact.

You understood exactly the opposite of what was actually happening. Again, try to keep up, or don’t. Whatever.

If you behaved on your mission the way you’re behaving on this thread, you were definitely on everyone’s “bad companion” list. Going forward please try and keep your story straight. Maybe write it all out first and have a grown up check for plot holes…Nolan wrote: ↑Thu Aug 21, 2025 10:49 pmYou get nothing. I wrote in a human way and exaggerated a bit like everyone does.I Have Questions wrote: ↑Thu Aug 21, 2025 3:54 pmNo. you explicitly said…I await your apology. And I’ll repeat the question - Nolan, have you considered that you were the bad companion to everyone that you served with?
Now tell me, since this is my thread: how was your mission?
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

The stories you tell, Sledge/Flemming/Nolan. I'm sure you were everyone's favorite bad companion.

You contradict yourself. Your one good companion was quite memorable. And no, they weren't "boring" they were "deranged", according to you.Nolan wrote: that I was thinking deeply about a companion from Norway who was the only good companion I had.
Compare your previous companions you consider deranged to the personalities on this forum. Do you think we are more or less deranged than your previous companions?
You got 2/4, whereas I got 3/3.But thanks for your input Aristotle Smith/Defender/Sidewinder/Gadianton.
Why would you assume stateside? Is that supposed to be a putdown because you went somewhere "exotic" and so you're in the DCP club now? It doesn't matter where you serve, but how you serve, Sledge.Flemming wrote:Where did you end up serving? Stateside I am assuming?

Re: What was Your Mission Like?
I’m sorry Gadianton. It was definitely not meant to be a put down. I don’t know why I said that, and you are absolutely right, stateside is just as important as any other area. In fact, I may have had a better experience had I stayed in the US.
And you got 0/3 by the way. I sense the animosity from several people here because they think I’m someone else (the mods can check my IP. I’m using Verizon 5G home service), someone they clearly don’t like. I made a silly guess about your other identities just by searching comments on the board…….just playing along.
All I wanted was some solidarity as a potential salve for my depression/trauma that I feel was caused by my mission experience.

Go over to exmormon Reddit for your salve. They would welcome you with all kinds of advice.Nolan wrote: ↑Sat Aug 23, 2025 1:54 amI’m sorry Gadianton. It was definitely not meant to be a put down. Re: What was Your Mission Like?
Imagine if Dan got called to a Utah mission and had to spend 2 years outside of a foreign country, he wouldn't say stateside is just as important.
I got at least 1/3, you are Nolan, right? So far everything jives with Sledge. I will entertain the possibility that I'm wrong. But so far you're aligned in several ways. And you got 0/3 by the way.
You seemed to be doing fine, and got a real unique conversation going with people talking about their missions, and then came the Netherlands / Norway thing. Physic's Guy made a good point that if it were an honest mistake, you should be able to see how such a mistake usually wouldn't be an honest one. Combine that with the fact we rarely get new posters here, most who drop in claiming to be new are sock puppets of other trolls who have been around for years.I sense the animosity from several people here because they think I’m someone else (the mods can check my IP. I’m using Verizon 5G home service), someone they clearly don’t like.
Hmmm. really? Searching comments for what? You were right about Sidewinder, that was my name at FAIR, never here, and that hasn't been used in the last 10 years at least if not much longer. So you've been around the boards a very long time and you know who we all are very well. I'm pretty sure Defender is also a FAIR poster who has never posted here. AS is a super infrequent poster here and curious you'd stumble upon his posts at all, though it's a somewhat better "guess," as we both used to post on Clark's blog. It seems like "other" information inspired you there also, as a long-time participator on Mormon message boards and not new on the scene at all.I made a silly guess about your other identities just by searching comments on the board…….just playing along.
Right. You do realize this is also a troll tactic, to come onto a board as a new person just looking for friends, provoke or misinterpret people, and then claim victim status. I can tell you this isn't a good board for seeking help with depression. It is a good board if you're interested in deeper than usual conversation on many topics or like to overanalyze the mechanisms of Mopologetics. All I wanted was some solidarity as a potential salve for my depression/trauma that I feel was caused by my mission experience.
