Re: Jacob Hansen: Yesser No?
I notice every time someone brings up God sending an angel to tell Joseph to cheat on his wife with underage girls, MG switches the topic.
I hope even he isn’t able to stomach calling that “a little messy.”

This topic also has many facets to it along with other issues you have and could bring up. To reduce this to "he cheated on his wife" shows a lack of understanding around the complete and rather complex circumstances that revolve around the "restoration of ALL things".
Let me ask you this. In the last days before Joseph's martyrdom at Carthage how many times did Joseph 'come home' to Emma before his final trip to jail? What did that/those visits consist of? What happened after Joseph Smith was killed when Emma found out? What did she say? What was her response?
Did Emma express her desire to be with Joseph in the next life? Was she still in love with him? Does any of this have any bearing on what came before in regards to their relationship throughout the years?

Why did Emma try to kill Joseph?MG 2.0 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 01, 2025 4:20 pmThis topic also has many facets to it along with other issues you have and could bring up. That is highly contested. Now, answer the questions, will ya'?Everybody Wang Chung wrote: ↑Mon Sep 01, 2025 4:24 pmWhy did Emma try to kill Joseph?MG 2.0 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 01, 2025 4:20 pmThis topic also has many facets to it along with other issues you have and could bring up. Highly contested?
Joseph himself testified before high Heaven more than once that [Emma] had administered poison to him. She gave him too heavy a dose and he vomited it up and was saved by faith."

Look at the source. Wang, I've asked some questions that may have some importance. Care to answer? Or are you going to pull an "IHQ" on us hoping the questions simply move up thread?Everybody Wang Chung wrote: ↑Mon Sep 01, 2025 5:16 pmHighly contested?

Don't skip any of them.

Fibber,
You don’t get off so easy, let’s look at the source. The prophet, Brigham Young...in….General….Conference.
BY, told this same personal experience at GC on at least two other occasions. There are other accounts too.
You’ll have to do much better. Joseph and Emma, by many credible accounts, had a very contentious, unhappy and even an abusive marriage.

Let me get this straight, the fibber-gymnast says
Wow. That's despicable.
And the 'circumstances' he lists include...To reduce this to "he cheated on his wife" shows a lack of understanding around the complete and rather complex circumstances...
Andhow many times did Joseph 'come home' to Emma
Is he actually arguing that because Joseph 'came back' each time he cheated and whether Emma 'loved' him enough are excuses for cheating on her with underage girls????...Did Emma express her desire to be with Joseph in the next life? Was she still in love with him? Does any of this have any bearing on what came before in regards to their relationship...
Wow. That's despicable.

I don’t see much in Jospeh Smith’s sexual morality to emulate, unless you want an STD, a divorce, and alimony obligations.

The question, within the context that I was asking it, was just before the martyrdom. I was quite clear about that. You failed to answer my questions. You are simply circumventing, trying to move my original questions/post up thread. I've seen this strategy many times. Anytime I poke a hole into your preconceived biases and conclusions you do something similar.
