In your view, what does it say?
Essentially that you feel free to mock those that believe in God and will find any and all ways to either diminish or ridicule the faith of those that exercise faith in a Supreme Being. That you would do that, pointed towards me, is unwarranted and a cheap trick at elevating your own worldview. Calling me a troll in coming here and expressing my beliefs further diminishes your worldview rather than mine, in my opinion. You, of all people, not having a belief in God, ought to simply brush off and even ignore another person's level of belief rather than trying to find every nook and cranny in order to enter in and diminish faith and belief in a wholesale manner.

Fibber, can you really be so clueless? The issue at hand is not a matter of your personal beliefs, but rather the manner in which you present your own. When you enter a public forum and share your views, you invite a certain level of scrutiny and pushback. It is not an attack on your faith to question or challenge the claims you make, just as it would not be an attack on a person's belief in the moon to question their claim that it is made of cheese.

Your belief is your own, and it is a personal matter. However, when you bring it into a public discussion, you must expect that it will be met with questions, challenges, and disagreement. To label this as an unwarranted and cheap trick is to misunderstand the very nature of a public forum. It is not an attempt to diminish your worldview, but rather a simple exercise in critical thinking and open dialogue. If you can't handle the heat.......

That's some great missionary work, Fibber.

There will of course be conflict when two opposing forces buck up against each other. And we will each come away with a different view of what is transpiring.
Fibber's behavior is disingenuous. He has been unable to find a single person in this community who considers him honest.
As I suggested earlier, give me a list of ten people to choose from.

While he claims to engage with 'investigators' and 'lurkers,' one such individual, Limnor, has stated that he feels 'pity' for Fibber, which completely undermines his stated purpose.
I have had very little, if any, interaction with Limnor. I don't know whether I would or would not place him in the same category that I place you and some of the other 'die hards'.

I do feel some sympathy for Fibber. His home life is not good and maybe this board offers him some comfort and solace in some strange way. I really do home his family life improves. I wouldn't wish his current situation on anyone.
This is a really strange comment. It would seem that it might be a reflection on you, even if subconsciously? There is just something kind of weird about the way you present this rumination.

No problem with that. In fact, I would expect this to be the case.

Again, no problem with that.

I don't see this, in and of itself, to be a "cheap trick".

And again, no problem with that aspect of participation and involvement.

Great! Thanks. Now, I know that some of these folks will side completely with you. Of that I have no doubt. There are a few that I'm really not sure where they might be coming from in regard to my honesty and integrity. I'd hope they give me the benefit of a doubt. On the whole, I think that there are more on this list that would, for all intents and purposes, more likely side with you.

One or two possible exceptions.

As I've said before, this board is more or less and echo chamber in most respects. There may be a few exceptions. It is those folks that I would hope might be a little more open to the possibility of my honesty and integrity. However, I don't want to put those people on the spot. If I do, that may very well mark them as a 'deplorable'. ;)

I wouldn't expect that they will come forward.

The gradual slide you speak of was less of an apostasy and more of a conscious decision to value transparency over blind obedience. As for my past claims, I stand by them. My bishopric was an experience, and those who served with me know the truth, as do several people here that know me in real life. It seems your definition of "truth" and mine have parted ways, substantially.
When you say, "value transparency over blind obedience", and that this happened over time...do you feel comfortable going into any more detail on that?

Fibber, well it looks like you’ve been caught in another fib again. You still can’t come up with even one name? Even after I provided the list you requested?

Unbelievable. Everybody Wang Chung exactly parodied the technique that the mentalgymnast most commonly uses, that of saying a disagreement comes from a failure in that person's character. He even caught exactly the ubiquitous tone of mg's innuendo. MG responded by analyzing himself, clearly explaining that his favorite approach is nothing more than projection.

You’ve got it wrong. Not the first time. Doing the twist again.
