I listened to Hans Mattson on Mormon Stories again, about his calling and election made sure by Russel M. Ballard in Berlin Temple. So, exaltation guaranteed unless he denies Holy Ghost or sheds innocent blood. The fact that he has stopped believing in LDS dogma thus won't prevent him from becoming a god, according to that very dogma. He can deny Jesus and the atoning sacrifice--yet Hans will be a god after this life. He can commit any crime other than murder and yet gets his exaltation. He can cheat on his wife and yet get exaltation he can rape a 10 year old child and yet he will become a god.

The silence in this thread by defenders is interesting. For example, MG 2.0 must not have been invited to have the 2nd anointing. Maybe he's navel gazing, wondering why he has not? His obfuscation and thread derailing, and even his TTOC dance, here haven't warranted his selection. So, despite believing there is such a thing as "sin", he doesn't have the promise of exaltation despite his sinning. From the fact of his non-selection we can safely surmise he has not amassed enough wealth to be so recognized by the prosperity-gospel LDS church. Poor MG 2.0.

Tangentially related to being assured exaltation and the allowance to commit all manner of sins save shedding innocent blood or denying the Holy Ghost now let's look at the assurance of destruction for apostates:

"For behold, the Lord hath said: I will not succor my people in the day of their transgression; but I will hedge up their ways that they prosper not; and their doings shall be as a stumbling block for them" - Mosiah 7:29.

"And in nothing doth man offend God, or against none is his wrath kindled, save those who confess not his hand in all things, and obey not his commandments" - D&C 59:21.

"And the soul that sins against this covenant, and hardeneth his heart against it, shall be dealt with according to the laws of my church, and shall be delivered over to the buffetings of Satan until the day of redemption" - D&C 82:21.
