Just for the record, the gun didn’t make Tyler Robinson kill Charlie Kirk. Also for the record, the gun used was an old hunting rifle that belonged to Tyler’s grandpa. His grandpa didn’t shoot anyone with it.
Tyler Robinson was mentally unstable and messed up from influences that turned his mind to the dark side. At the time of the shooting he was simply mentally unstable. We need to help our youth steer their lives in directions that are productive rather than destructive. He went the wrong direction.

Nor did the cocaine make anyone snort it. But society makes it illegal because of what people do with it, just as guns should be prohibited as people kill others with them. You make yet again another facile, stupid argument. But then, look at the source.
Cocaine exists and cause damage to many lives despite it being illegal. You are also conveniently ignoring Second Amendment rights. Comparing cocaine to hunting rifles which are legal is not a good comparison. But I think you know that.
Anything to avoid the actual causes/contributors to mental instability and madness. I haven't quite been able to decide why folks like you seem to be oblivious to societal factors that lead people towards doing things that under other conditions they would very likely not consider doing.
Joseph’s Nephi (if you can separate the two) had the convenient justification that “God told him to do it.”
Nephi didn’t have to kill Laban, he could have just taken the plates. It was the voices that made him do so. Today we would generally call that mentally unstable.
I would agree that much depends on where the voice came/comes from.

How do you know it was not the same voice as Nephi was listening to?

Yes. Of course if the voices tell Nephi to murder, mopologists will fall all over themselves to argue that the voices, for some reason, were right to command murder. If you ask a mopologist if the terrorists who crashed airplanes into the world towers were listening to voices that were 'right', you will get the opposite answer. Arguing the stories are of god and therefore acceptable, simply because Smith wrote them, creates a position that is insupportable.

Why is that?
Do you condone these dark influences? If so, why?

There are plenty of crazy people in countries other than the USA. No doubt they would love to be able to kill The Bad People That The Voices Talk About with automatic rifles, or even bolt operated hunting rifles. But those other countries have a lot fewer gun killings per head than in the USA. Why? Not because they have fewer crazy people, but because the crazy people find it much harder to get hold of firearms and ammunition.
If the USA wants to reduce the number of gun killings, it would probably find it very difficult (though not impossible) to do so by significantly reducing the number of crazy people. It would however be a lot easier to do so by simply reducing the ease with which a crazy person with a few dollars to spare can get hold of a lethal firearm.
So why not try it? A whole lot of lives would be saved.

The fruits/results.

Yea. In both instances, both Nephi and the Lafferty Bros, the fruits/results were that they killed someone according to a voice they heard. That suggests it might be the same voice.

A significant difference is that one of these is a real-life occurrence. However, in the real-life case the perps may have been considered justifiable based on the not-real-life case.
