Where we are

Post by ceeboo »

Keith Obermann threatens the life of Scott Jennings.

A handful of days after Charlie Kirk was publicly assassinated in front of his wife and two young children, Obermann tells Jennings " You are next mother F-er".

Speaking for myself, I am losing all tolerance for this left lunatic death cult crap.

In my opinion, Obermann should be arrested.

After that, American authorities should be looking into other lefty lunatic terrorists like Hasan Piker (nephew of Cenk) and Destiny. These two lunatics are calling for more conservatives to be murdered.

I want to agree with you, but this Keith Obermann is so damn crazy, he has to be institutionalized if this keeps going. Sometimes I wonder if he deserves empathy. He represents his side very well, but damn is he crazy.
Ban Whiskey permanently if that's the only way.

So when Trump threatens lives, it's reasonable, but if a "lefty" does it, they should be arrested. OK.

And you don't see that you're in a cult. Wow.

You're at the same place you were at 15 years ago (probably longer). No difference.

One thing I could mention on this thread as well as anywhere, is that I find the antics of our board right-w's pretty telling. Why so glum? The religious right is overtly overturning the constitution and moving us into a dictatorship, the only thing slowing it down is the courts are still more or less functional, and there's an inherent administrative inertia for a country this large and successful that doesn't get swatted away overnight.

The point is, our right-wingers couldn't ask for more in terms of a power grab and the outright injustice of their leadership, freedom of their own media to make direct calls for killing people, and yet our right-w's are the ones who are the most unhappy. You're winning. I'm living in fear -- thanks to you. Slightly less than as of a few months ago as the first major round of corruption missed its target. But otherwise, you should be dancing in the street.

By the way, the right seemed to celebrate Alex Jones calling Sandy Hook a staged event and then harassing and threating the families of shooting victims for years and years. This is who you are. There are so many other examples and just no incentive for me to continue. The face of evil is playing the victim in the opening post -- I hope nobody is confused about that.

Adding to all the subjects you don't know anything about -- you know nothing about criminal law.

Olbermann and Jennings are a couple of loser hacks. Neither one adds much of value to our political discourse. If they hypothetically both disappeared tomorrow—say they were beamed to a luxury resort to live out their days in blissful isolation—I doubt anyone would miss them or even notice.

I think handwringing about the left is the primary way Trump voters distract themselves from the obviously bad choices they've made.

But then again, they'd have to have some integrity and internal honesty for that to happen, so maybe not. Maybe they're simply stupid douche bags.

Still playing that card, eh?

Maybe I can offer you some help? Your constant attempts to scream "dictator.", "Nazi", "Hitler", End of our democracy", "End of our Republic", "Russia", isn't working. It has been rejected by the majority - and it has been rejected a long time ago. Perhaps you could come up with a different strategy?
You're winning. I'm living in fear -- thanks to you.
What are you fearing? And why do you attribute your fear to me?
By the way, the right seemed to celebrate Alex Jones calling Sandy Hook a staged event and then harassing and threating the families of shooting victims for years and years. This is who you are.
This is who I am? I was harassing and threatening the families of shooting victims for years and years?

Putting aside your desperate attempt to apply such a vile label to me, I will suggest that you're displaying how extremely irrational and foolish you are.
Adding to all the subjects you don't know anything about -- you know nothing about criminal law.
I will admit that criminal law is not my strong suit, but I do understand what a criminal is, and I do own a suit.

I don't think you will see America's right-wingers dancing in the streets until they start sending their perceived enemies to concentration camps. I doubt they will be stopping at undocumented immigrants or even non-white people. Remember, Trump called his political opponents "vermin," which suggests he is looking forward to exterminating them.

I will give ceeboo this: Olbermann is a blight in the media landscape. If he were to be suspended over this, that would be a good thing, in my view. I don't care for him or his methods. Of course, by that standard, FoxNews would have to winnow its contributors quite a bit, too. Brian Killmeade's call to euthanize America's homeless population was much, much worse by orders of magnitude than Olbermann's irresponsible comments, but I am sure I can find our resident MAGA folks' loud, impassioned criticisms of Killmeade's statement, right?

If anyone can help me find Ceeboo's and Whiskey's call to pull Brian Killmeade off the air or to arrest him, I would appreciate it.

More context:
Former ESPN and MSNBC contributor Keith Olbermann posted an apology Tuesday after deleting a controversial social media post Monday directed at CNN conservative commentator Scott Jennings.

Olbermann's original posts were screenshotted by Townhall columnist Dustin Grage, showing Olbermann writing, "You’re next motherf---er," and "But keep mugging for the camera," at Jennings nearly two weeks after Charlie Kirk was assassinated at an event on the campus of Utah Valley University.

Jennings later shared screenshots of Olbermann's posts, tagging FBI Director Kash Patel.

Olbermann's apology post came Tuesday, suggesting his message was "misinterpreted."

"I apologize without reservation to [Scott Jennings]. Yesterday I wrote and immediately deleted 2 responses to him about Kimmel because they could be misinterpreted as a threat to anything besides his career. I immediately replaced them with ones specifying what I actually meant," Olbermann wrote.

"I oppose and condemn political violence, and the threat of it. All times are the wrong time to leave even an inadvertent impression of it — but this time is especially wrong. I should've acknowledged the deletion and apologized yesterday. I'm sorry I delayed."

Olbermann has faced tremendous backlash in recent days for his controversial posts about Kirk and Jimmy Kimmel. He slighted the late conservative influencer last week after it was announced that several TV affiliates, including those owned by Sinclair, would preempt Kimmel’s show.

He maintained that nothing that Kimmel said in his comments about Kirk was untrue.

Last week, Kimmel accused conservatives of reaching "new lows" in trying to pin a left-wing ideology on 22-year-old suspect Tyler Robinson, even though prosecutors reaffirmed those ties in his indictment.

"We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it," Kimmel said.

Olbermann’s move was stupid. It would have taken a second of reconsideration to realize that it would be a complete mistake to post what he did.

Given my reply to Gad, your response could not have added more weight, unknowingly, than if you intended to add more weight.

Yeah, you have gone mad.
