Ceeboo, they harbor resentment towards individuals like you because of your happiness, perceiving joyful people as superficial, which in turn elevates their sense of superiority in their own despair.

I am struggling to see any of this as being tethered to resentment. It's certainly a possibility that I am wrong, but I just don't see grievances or grudges at play.

For some of the board members here (not all, and I will not mention names) I see hatred. In my opinion, this hatred is born of a political ideology that doesn't allow for individual people to be seen - doesn't consider the enormous complexity that each of us have. The eyes can only see what group you belong to. Ironically, many who claim to champion diversity, are those who reject the most valuable form of diversity - Diversity of thought/ideas.

As someone who does not identify as Christian, I would like to share my perspective on how your Christian beliefs are perceived. When the Marxist progressives on the board encounter your genuine affection for Christianity and Christ, it provokes them and they become envious. It serves as a reminder of what is missing in their everyday existence and what they choose not to pursue. Rather than engaging in self reflection, they respond with hostility, ridiculing, belittling, and attempting to undermine whatever you express due to their own inner turmoil.

While there is most definitely a significant amount of hostility, ridicule, and belittling that frequents the board, I am going to need to think some more about your suggested reasons for it.
