Google Aubry McClendon. One hell of a story. He was one of the biggest clients at a bank I worked with. I did many roadshows with him. He is like a caricature of a caricature. The once-living mascot of douchebaggery.
Yep. McClendon and Clay Bennett were part of an ownership group that purchased the Sonics, and one of the provisions of the purchase was that they would try to keep the team in Seattle. After the purchase, McClendon famously said "we didn't buy the Seattle SuperSonics to keep them in Seattle." This earned McClendon a fine from the NBA, which nevertheless rubberstamped the move to Oklahoma City. (Clay Bennett later became chairman of the NBA's relocation committee.)
McClendon was the worst combination of DB. Dishonest on the outside and the inside. Shameless to the extreme. Equal parts selfish (serves his own wealth) and selfless (abandoned his own soul for a schtick).
Ban Whiskey permanently if that's the only way.

WS favorite to win in all, the Phillies, lost the first two at home against the Dodgers.

Can they win three in a row?

That will be tough -- maybe about a 10% chance?

It's the bottom of the 9th, and it was 8 to 2 for a few seconds. Ferguson out, Muñoz heading to the mound.

Tigers lose tomorrow as well (season over) - Naylor has a big game for Seattle.
We'll see. Today is the day Seattle will really feel the pain of not having their best starter (Woo) available. If Seattle advances, I hope he'll be ready to go for the next round.

Today's starter for Seattle, Bryce Miller, usually does well the first time through the batting order. The second time through he is directly responsible for a measurable uptick in local cases of acid reflux. The third time through he spontaneously combusts.

Tigers win game 3 - (9 to 3) - Skubal pitched game 5!

Go Yankees! That was quite a game.

From one of my favorite X-files episodes...

SCULLY: (accusing) Mulder!? You cheat. I can't believe that you've been reading about baseball this whole time.
MULDER: Reading the box scores, Scully. You'd like it. It's like the Pythagorean Theorem for jocks. It distills all the chaos and action of any game in the history of all baseball games into one tiny, perfect, rectangular sequence of numbers. I can look at this box and I can recreate exactly what happened on some sunny summer day back in 1947. It's like the numbers talk to me, they comfort me. They tell me that even though lots of things can change some things do remain the same.
