New First Presidency announced (Oaks, Eyring, Christofferson)
President: Dallin Oaks (referred to as “Dallas” by Elder Stevenson during the introduction; Stevenson will be reprimanded and demoted in seniority later).
First Counselor: Eyring
Second Counselor: Christofferson
Surprisingly, the reorganization took place today.
Christofferson said he was surprised by the call. Understandable. But then Eyring said he was “equally surprised.” Not believable. Eyring’s been in the First Presidency for the past 18 years.
Holland spoke and Oaks concluded. Oaks said that the church doesn’t have the answers to all of the world’s problems as they haven’t been revealed. I am not making this up.
Press didn’t participate. The entire video announcement lasted about 13 minutes.

I don’t know if Oaks is less comfortable with the press than Nelson (that does seem to be the case) or if he and others decided that the news conference in 2018 did not go well and the format should not be repeated. I assume Oaks would have been asked LGBTQ-related questions.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports that a news conference in connection with the announcement of a new First Presidency had been protocol for seven decades. Is this a sign that Oaks will lead a more insular church?

I hope Dallas Oaks didn’t fast for too long, he looks rather frail.

Do they really think members are obtuse. They have repeatedly said they have the answers to life's problems.Tom wrote: ↑Tue Oct 14, 2025 7:17 pmPresident: Dallin Oaks (referred to as “Dallas” by Elder Stevenson during the introduction; Stevenson will be reprimanded and demoted in seniority later).

"Elder Perry: ... I know the gospel is true. It answers all of life’s questions and problems that face us. ... [quoting Benson], “I testify to you that we have the answers to the problems of the world....'"
"Elder Christofferson: "Yes. Well, you’ve said that the answers to life’s challenges and problems come from the gospel ... The gospel really does have the answers."

The speaking from chairs stuff isn't meant to be funny, but it is.
Ban Whiskey permanently if that's the only way.

I don't think I saw a single Christofferson prediction... interesting.

I kept secretly hoping that, against all precedents, Holland would be "chosen" as President/Prophet, with Oaks as Co-President.
I mean, the Holland/Oaks duo has a nice sound, does it not?
(please don't make me spell this out, folks)
